[name]Frederick[/name] – I like [name]Frederick[/name] and the nickname [name]Freddie[/name]. Similar name suggestion: [name]Franklin[/name].
Revere – [name]LOVE[/name] Revere, from [name]Paul[/name] Revere. So colonial, and sounds classy.
[name]Lachlan[/name] – Not a fan. Where I come from, he would have pronunciation problems.
[name]Cullen[/name] – I find this too closely tied to Twilight. Similar name to consider: [name]Curran[/name].
[name]Cormac[/name] – Hm. Nice sound. Sounds manly.
[name]Callum[/name] – I’ve always liked [name]Callum[/name], but there may be pronunciation problems: [name]CAL[/name]-um vs. CAWL-um.
Providence – Not my style at all. I mean I’m a fan of Providence, just not as a name!
[name]Ransom[/name] – Colonial and a nice sound, but it doesn’t feel namey to me.
Girls:
[name]Marilyn[/name] – SO fifties and sweet.
[name]Ariadne[/name] – This name feels clunky to me.
[name]Cora[/name] – [name]Love[/name] [name]Cora[/name]. Similar name suggestion: [name]Nora[/name].
[name]Molly[/name] – [name]Molly[/name] is so fun and precious. Very little girly, but I think it works.
[name]Mercy[/name] – I know it was used by Puritans, but like [name]Ransom[/name], it has never felt like a name to me.
[name]Honor[/name] – Also doesn’t feel like a name, and the sound is not my style. To me it sounds like a horn honking!
Boys:
[name]Frederick[/name]- I like [name]Frederick[/name], but I prefer it in the middle.
Revere- I think I like it- it has to grow on me.
[name]Lachlan[/name]- Very nice, and not nearly as popular as I thought it was- I could’ve sworn it was in the top 500, but it’s not even in the US top 1000.
[name]Cullen[/name]- Too twilight.
[name]Cormac[/name]- I really like it, and I love nn [name]Mac[/name].
[name]Callum[/name]- I love [name]Callum[/name]! I really like it’s peace connotation (from “dove”) and [name]Cal[/name] is a great nickname.
Providence- Too wordy for my taste.

From your boys’ list: I like [name]Frederick[/name], Revere, [name]Cormac[/name], Providence, and [name]Ransom[/name]. Are you [name]Christian[/name]? If so, [name]Ransom[/name] is quite a meaningful name to you. The idea of the death of [name]Christ[/name] as our ransom is repeated throughout the New Testament, and that is the reason [name]Ransom[/name] was fairly popular in the colonial era. Sadly that meaning is lost on most people today. If I were making names from your boys’ list, I would go with [name]Ransom[/name] [name]Frederick[/name], [name]Callum[/name] Providence, and [name]Cormac[/name] Revere.

Cormac- I like this as well, though the only associations I have is with the Harry Potter guy. He was weird, but his name is cool. The meaning seems to be different for every single website. BtN says “son of defilement” and this site says “tree trunk”. I wonder which is true.
Callum- This is cute, I like this.
Providence- Cute, but maybe a little too much as a fn. Middle?
Ransom- Not really my style, I just think of someone being held for Ransom.
Girls:
Marilyn- I like this. It will blend in nicely with the popular names of today and still stand out.
Ariadne- May cause pronounciation problems depending on where you live. I have a hard time remembering how to pronounce it correctly.
Cora- Not bad
Molly- Cute, I like this. I know someone with this as a fn.
Mercy- I like this, but maybe as a mn.
Honor- Cute, but I have heard jokes that have made me leary of this name. I like Honora better.
Edit: I saw your post about the virtue names. I say you should use them as fn’s since they are special for you and your beliefs. I love virtue names and wish my DH was more willing to use them.
