A few more considerations for my long list

I’m still in the midst of exploring options for potentially having a top 20 boys’ list, and I have a few more names I’m considering. Thoughts on these?

Dominic “Dom” (I’m absolutely in love with Dom lately! I think it’s adorable)
Ciaran (in honor of my mom Karen. I love it as a way to honor her… I’m just not sure I love Ciaran enough for it to be FN potential)
Killian/Cillian (I know the Kill Ian thing–I still like it as a name, though.)
Ian (another family name)
Toby (Tobin? I’m not a fan of Tobiah or Tobias at all–the Biblical namesake is more repulsive than appealing–and I honestly like just Toby best, but I sort of feel like I should use a fuller name. Although with just Jack on my list, I think Jack and Toby would be fine for brothers…)
Sebastian
Josiah

I’m also tossing around Bryn, Ianto, and Rhys as middles (maybe FNs?) in honor of my Welsh heritage. Are any of them (particularly Ianto?) too out-there for actual use?

And lastly: Zane Fielding. Yay or nay? I’m not sure why I love it, but I do!

[name]Dominic[/name] “[name]Dom[/name]” - this is strong and masculine but it depends on how much you love [name]Everett[/name]/[name]Charlotte[/name] because I think they’re too similar for siblings. This name goes best with [name]Isabelle[/name], [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Catherine[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Asher[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]Charles[/name].

[name]Ciaran[/name] - I love this Irish name and it would be a creative way to honour a mom named [name]Karen[/name]. I also love [name]Cian[/name]. [name]Arianne[/name], [name]Grayson[/name], [name]Gwendolyn[/name] or [name]Catherine[/name] may have to be eliminated if you choose it for a first name. You do seem to be short of a name ending in “n” on your boys list. [name]Ciaran[/name] pairs well with [name]Violet[/name], [name]Tess[/name] ane surnames like [name]Everett[/name], [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Bailey[/name].

[name]Killian[/name]/[name]Cillian[/name] - I like the original “C” spelling but I do prefer [name]Ciaran[/name] for a first name. It has the same issues as [name]Ciaran[/name] but maybe [name]Olivia[/name] would be in jeopardy ([name]Cillian[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] have similar sounds).

[name]Ian[/name] (another family name) - [name]Ian[/name] is a little more versatile than [name]Ciaran[/name] and [name]Cillian[/name]. It goes well with many types of names styles especially more traditional names like [name]Olivia[/name], [name]Rachel[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Jack[/name].

[name]Toby[/name] - This is a cute nn for [name]Tobin[/name] but I wouldn’t use it as a first name on its own. It works better for a boy because it sounds juvenile ([name]Jack[/name] works for all ages).

[name]Bryn[/name], [name]Ianto[/name], and [name]Rhys[/name] as middles - the middle spot is a great place to honour your Welsh heritage and to go a little wild. I think all of these are usable.

[name]Zane[/name] [name]Fielding[/name] - I love the look of this combo (the g at the end breaks the straight line) and I love the sound of them together (1-2 syllable count). My only hesitation would be the similar “ay” sound with some of the other names on your signature. [name]Zane[/name]/[name]Rachel[/name]/[name]Eleni[/name]/[name]Grayson[/name]/[name]Avery[/name]/[name]Bailey[/name]/[name]Caleb[/name] all share this sound.

[name]Dominic[/name]: I’ve always liked [name]Dominic[/name], even if it isn’t something I would use personally. It’s strong and handsome and a great name overall.
[name]Ciaran[/name]: doesn’t appeal to me, but I can appreciate that it honors your mom
[name]Killian[/name]/[name]Cillian[/name]: fun, upbeat Irish name that I wouldn’t mind seeing on someone else’s son
[name]Ian[/name]: I know several Ians, most of them teenagers. I’m not a fan of [name]Ian[/name] personally because it sounds weird (eeee-an), but that could just be because I always hear it in a Southern drawl.
[name]Toby[/name]: I keep picturing a golden retriever… but I do like [name]Toby[/name] for a boy. If you don’t like any of the long forms, just name him [name]Toby[/name]. I know an [name]Obie[/name] whose name works for him just fine. Nickname names aren’t nearly as burdensome as some berries seem to think.
[name]Bryn[/name], [name]Ianto[/name], and [name]Rhys[/name]: all perfectly usable, especially as middle names - [name]Ianto[/name] especially is jaunty and cool
[name]Zane[/name] [name]Fielding[/name]: This is really cool. I like it, but like you I’m not sure why.

Great names, all except for [name]Toby[/name]. Maybe it’s irrational but I still remember being disgusted by this name the first time I heard it when I was a young child (summer movie series including films about a circus kid named [name]Toby[/name]). It makes me think of toes and bee stings and other unpleasant things.

[name]Dominic[/name] is my favorite in that last - [name]Dom[/name] is great and a nn I really like too

Edited for privacy.

@saracita00 - lol. Well, I’m a fan of [name]Narnia[/name], I wouldn’t put it past me. I’d still like to get [name]Caspian[/name] on my list as a MN. I probably wouldn’t use them all–I think [name]Ciaran[/name] and [name]Killian[/name] are already gone from the possibilities, and I’m not sure I can really see me with a [name]Sebastian[/name], much as I love the Twelfth [name]Night[/name] tie (and the nn [name]Seb[/name]!). At this point, I think this is my list:

[name]Caleb[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Asher[/name]
[name]Jack[/name]
[name]Grayson[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Bailey[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Charles[/name] “[name]Charlie[/name]”
[name]Boaz[/name] “[name]Beau[/name]”
[name]Brody[/name]
[name]Declan[/name]
[name]Dominic[/name] “[name]Dom[/name]”
[name]Atticus[/name] (not sure of a nn–I can’t really see me using [name]Gus[/name] or [name]Ace[/name], and while I like the idea of [name]Atticus[/name] nn [name]Kit[/name], I adore [name]Catherine[/name] nn [name]Kit[/name], so I probably wouldn’t use that. [name]Atti[/name]? Too close to [name]Addy[/name]?)
[name]Zane[/name]
[name]Booker[/name]
[name]Spencer[/name]

With [name]Calvin[/name] “[name]Cal[/name]”, [name]Patrick[/name] “[name]Pax[/name]”, [name]Ian[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], and [name]Lev[/name] as possibilities, as well. I’m not sure how I feel about them all though, some of them could easily axed.

[name]Dominic[/name] “[name]Dom[/name]” - [name]Love[/name]. It reminds me of [name]Vin[/name] [name]Diesel[/name] in the Fast and Furious movies, which are right up there in my favorites
[name]Ciaran[/name] - I like it. I want to like it more, since I’ve had it on my list before, but in the end I had to take it off because I just didn’t like it enough. You may be having the same issue.
[name]Killian[/name]/[name]Cillian[/name] - Similar story to [name]Ciaran[/name] for me. Like it in the past, like it in general, but probably for other people rather than myself.
[name]Ian[/name] - [name]Love[/name]!
[name]Toby[/name] - I think [name]Toby[/name] or [name]Tobin[/name] would both be rather cute.
[name]Josiah[/name] - My perception of this name changes day to day. Today, I sort of like it. I wouldn’t use it for myself as I feel so wishy-washy, but I think I’d be happy meeting a little [name]Josiah[/name].

[name]Bryn[/name] - Would be cool on a boy. I slightly prefer for girl.
[name]Ianto[/name] - [name]Love[/name] this one. I’d feel comfortable using it for a FN but it all depends on how adventurous you are.
[name]Rhys[/name] - Handsome and I think people wouldn’t have a hard time accepting it.

[name]Zane[/name] [name]Fielding[/name] - Not my type of name. I’ve never liked [name]Zane[/name] and [name]Fielding[/name] reminds me too strongly of the word to think of it as a name.
