[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all! Again, my apologies for all the posts recently. I just have a few more questions about ways to honor my maternal grandmother with a future daughter’s name. I’ll likely still consider a few of the names listed if I feel they go well with what I eventually choose to honor her.
Some thoughts and background first. [name_f]My[/name_f] grandma was a woman who loved [name_m]God[/name_m] and her family so well. She was independent, spunky, and not afraid to speak her mind. Her faith and family were the pillars of her life, in that order. She was a friend to all, who showed up for others, be it family, friends, or near strangers.
Some of the names of thought of using to honor her:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] (double honor)
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]
[name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (double honor)
Because my grandma had such spunk, I think she would approve of the names on this list that are a little more out there (i.e. [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] and Sunday!)
If you can give me honest feedback so I can narrow down my list, I’d really appreciate it. Which names do you love? Which do you hate? What suggestions do you have?
Thank you so much!

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites on your list:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] - this feels spunky and sparky but tied to her faith and friendly nature
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - that perfect balance between spunk and friendliness, between confidence and independence and the more ‘traditional’ values of faith and family
[name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] - another wonderfully balanced name, meaningful and very you! [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be fabulous too!
[name_f]Maren[/name_f] - warm and friendly but with sass too. [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f], [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f], and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f] would be wonderful!!
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_u]Juno[/name_u] would also be a delight btw!
The only one that doesn’t quite work for me is [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. It falls a bit flat. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] though? [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f]? [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]?

@Greyblue Wow, thank you so much! You have made so many amazing suggestions! I agree with your thoughts on [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_u]Marie[/name_u]. When I was younger, I always thought a future daughter’s name would be [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f] in honor of her. (She was still with us when I thought of this.) I forgot about it until you mentioned it, so thank you!
I’ve never thought of [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Maren[/name_f], and it’s beautiful.
I also love your suggestions of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], and [name_f]Maren[/name_f] [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
I think that aside from using [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], my favorite combination from my own list is [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. Today it hit me how fitting it would be to name a daughter that in honor of my grandma. To me, the name [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] touches on her independence, her perseverance, grace, grit, humility, and the gratitude she showed daily for everything in her life, while also passing her middle name down to yet another generation.

Thank you again!

These are all such beautiful names.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I love that it’s a double honor for your grandma. It feels elegant and graceful, yet spunky at the same time—exactly in your grandma’s spirit.
I also like the sound of [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], and you’re making me love [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] with your description of the name!

I know you haven’t listed this as an option but I think [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] feels so lovely and upbeat? If not then I’d pick [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f].

@acajou Thank you so much! I love that [name_f]Greta[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would honor both my mom and my grandma together in one name, (as would [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] Margot). [name_f]Greta[/name_f] is so cute, and I feel like it’s very overlooked. It’s also a name I remember my mom saying she thought was cute when we found out that an acquaintance named her daughter Gret@. (It’s not someone I know well enough to be discouraged from using the name. If that were the case, I would either choose a different name or ask if using the same one was an issue for that person.) I love [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] too! I don’t believe I have any familial connection to [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], I just think the names are very pretty paired together. I LOVE [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and prior to today, I had no clue why the [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] for a little girl brings me so much joy. I think maybe I just figured out why!
Thank you again!

@Greyblue Thank you so much!
[name_f]My[/name_f] mom recently told me I need to name something [name_u]Frankie[/name_u] because she knows how much I love the name.
So why not use it to honor my grandma because it is a name that I think embodies her spirit and the way she loved perfectly. Adding her middle name makes it even more special!
I think the top contenders as of now are:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] ——— +
[name_u]Frankie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
Thank you again!
