[name]Estella[/name]- to ethnic sounding? [name]Love[/name] [name]Stella[/name]! [name]Estella[/name] sounds softer. [name]Love[/name] nn [name]Essie[/name] or [name]Elle[/name]. Sound ok with [name]Owen[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name], [name]Annabel[/name]? Is the literary tie a deal breaker? I hear her character was horrid…
[name]Maeve[/name]- love. To frumpy? I’d rather [name]Maeva[/name] but that’s actually a whole other name and prn.
I love both [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Estella[/name]! I am not sure about the literary reference, but I don’t think it sounds too ethnic. It also sounds great in the sibset
I love [name]Maeve[/name] too but I think it is too plain for a FN. What about [name]Estella[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] as a possible combo?
I love [name]Estella[/name], so much prettier than [name]Stella[/name]. I guess it doesn’t sound ethnic because I can’t think of what ethnicity you might mean. It sounds fine w the other names.
[name]Maeve[/name] is not for me.
Her character wasn’t horrid, just cold and misunderstood - I won’t go into her character any more than this, but she was also very very beautiful! I love the name [name]Estella[/name] (I had it on my shortlist until very recently), you’re right it’s much softer than [name]Stella[/name] and much more rare which makes it all the more beautiful. Your nn ideas are gorgeous too
I also like [name]Maeve[/name] but not as much as [name]Estella[/name] - [name]Maeve[/name] is better in the middle spot imo as an interesting alternative to one syllable middle names such as [name]May[/name], but it’s still pretty nonetheless, I don’t think it’s frumpy at all!
I like [name]Owen[/name], [name]Sullivan[/name] and [name]Annabel[/name] with [name]Maeve[/name], not [name]Stella[/name] or [name]Estella[/name]. I think [name]Maeve[/name] goes so nicely with them!
Well, I think I’ll keep [name]Estella[/name] on my list. [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Isla[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], [name]Daphne[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Violet[/name]… Those are my other favs.
Is [name]Estella[/name] overly Italian sounding? I’m only asking because we are pasty Irish/English peeps:)
[name]Estella[/name] is stunning as goes perfectly with your childrens names. As for the Italian factor nobody says [name]Isabella[/name] sounds Italian so I dont see how [name]Estella[/name] is any different. Go for it!
I have a slight name crush on [name]Estella[/name] at the moment after re-reading Great Expectations (which you should definitely read before naming your daughter [name]Estella[/name], because although I don’t think the character is horrid, she is very complex and I think the name is still connected to the character). It’s pretty with great nn options (I’d use [name]Etta[/name]), and it feels very British to me because of the Dickens link. I hate [name]Stella[/name] though, so I wouldn’t use it
I love [name]Estella[/name] so much, I would go with it!! And it’s definitely not Italian-sounding to me, I think it would look lovely on a fellow pasty person! [name]Camille[/name] is a name I really don’t like. I think [name]Estella[/name] is much nicer.
