I have a few newer girls I’d love thoughts on. Please?
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Belinda[/name]
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]
[name]Zoya[/name]
[name]Eugenie[/name]
Anything at all, absolutely welcome! thanks.

[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]
[name]Zoya[/name]
[name]Eugenie[/name]

[name]Aurelia[/name]- so gorgeous!
[name]Belinda[/name]- i really dislike [name]Belinda[/name]… sounds like an unattractive girl, to me
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]- fun! did you notice they have opposite meanings? I like them both, they could be really cool in some combination
[name]Zoya[/name]- sounds a little spacey
[name]Eugenie[/name]- really nice. not sure I have the pronunciation right, but, it’s beautiful.
my favorite is [name]Aurelia[/name], I love that name!
[name]Aurelia[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]!
[name]Belinda[/name]: Not a fan of [name]Belinda[/name], as I only think of [name]Belinda[/name] [name]Carlisle[/name].
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]: This one’s growing on me…
[name]Zoya[/name]: I prefer your [name]Zelda[/name] over [name]Zoya[/name]. When I see that name, I think of [name]Danielle[/name] [name]Steele[/name]!
[name]Eugenie[/name]: Pronunciation issues aside (people will say yoo-jeen-ee, when it’s yoo-jzehn-ee), it’s a lovely name. When [name]Fergie[/name] says her daughter’s name, she emphasizes the “yoo,” which sounds pretty.
From this list, I’m loving [name]Aurelia[/name]! [name]Araminta[/name], [name]Aurora[/name], [name]Arabella[/name], and [name]Astrid[/name] are cool names, too!
[name]Aurelia[/name]”Gorgeous and romantic, a princess of a name
[name]Belinda[/name]”Hmm…not ready for this one
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]”[name]LOVE[/name]! Especially [name]Tula[/name], so sweet and trim.
[name]Zoya[/name]”I want to like it, but I think I prefer [name]Zora[/name] or [name]Zara[/name] for now.
[name]Eugenie[/name]”So, so lovely!
From your list, I would definitely consider [name]Tula[/name] or [name]Eugenie[/name] for my own daughter. [name]Aurelia[/name] doesn’t go with my last name, but I still think it’s a fantastic choice.
[name]Aurelia[/name] - love it!
[name]Belinda[/name] - It is pretty. Let me think about it.
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name] - I like this, it’s fun!
[name]Zoya[/name] - [name]Do[/name] not like. I think you have some other “Z” names that I like better.
[name]Eugenie[/name] - So pretty. My [name]MIL[/name] has that book called “[name]Desiree[/name]” that I was telling you about. I borrowed it. So I am reading about [name]Eugenie[/name].
Anything at all, absolutely welcome! thanks. :D[/quote]
Thanks gang! As for [name]Eugenie[/name]'s pronunciation, I love the way she sounds for real but could happily love with you-jeen-ee, no problem. If I could get people to say yoo-jzehn-ee, I’d use her to heck with [name]Napoleon[/name]! As is, I waffle because of that, too. [name]Eugenie[/name] was wife #1, [name]Josephine[/name], wife #2. sigh
I’m thinking [name]Tula[/name] as a nickname for [name]Tallulah[/name], which is on my list as a family name.
Aww, [name]Jill[/name], [name]Belinda[/name] [name]Carlisle[/name] is why I like [name]Belinda[/name]!
And just so everyone know, [name]Zoya[/name] is Russian [name]Zoe[/name].
[name]Tula[/name] for [name]Tallulah[/name] is awesome, [name]Lola[/name]! [name]Ah[/name], yes. [name]Belinda[/name]. It’s not that I dislike Miss [name]Belinda[/name], but that when I hear that name, a giant image of her head pops into my mind.
I forgot to add that I don’t think anyone will make the connection between [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Eugenie[/name]. If, however, you had a son named [name]Napoleon[/name] and daughter named [name]Josephine[/name], that connection would be blinding. If anything, when people hear [name]Eugenie[/name], they’ll think of [name]Princess[/name] [name]Eugenie[/name], who is a darling girl. (I saw a recent photo of her, and can’t believe how stunning she is. For anyone reading this, [name]Eugenie[/name] is the brunette daughter, and [name]Beatrice[/name] has red hair.) Wait. I’m confused.
Is [name]Napoleon[/name] on your namelist now?
No, [name]Jill[/name], relax. [name]Napoleon[/name] is not on my list, nor will he ever be. [name]Napoleon[/name] is a huge, annoying pig to me (I’m one of those oddballs tht re-reads “Animal Farm” on a regular basis for fun).
[name]Lola[/name], I don’t mean to be a dummy, but I thought [name]Josephine[/name] was [name]Napoleon[/name]'s first wife. (The second was [name]Marie[/name].) [name]Napoleon[/name] III was married to a [name]Eugenie[/name], but I can’t recall the first [name]Napoleon[/name] being married to one. Am I missing something? Or is my noncaffeinated brain struggling?
I’ve always read [name]Eugenie[/name] was first, divorced her to marry [name]Josephine[/name], but I thin you’re right, She was the third wife of [name]Napoleon[/name] III. Still the two together make me think of just [name]Napoleon[/name], in general. Bugs me quite a bit!
Oh but it’s so pretty! [name]Don[/name]'t let a bunch of wild empresses ruin it for you.
Actually, I associate the name more with GWTW-- I just hear Mammy announcing the arrival of [name]Rhett[/name] & [name]Scarlett[/name]'s baby: “[name]Eugenie[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]!” (Better known as [name]Bonnie[/name].)
I really like [name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Tula[/name]. What about [name]Carlisle[/name]? I think that’s cooler for a girl than [name]Belinda[/name]. I also have trouble with [name]Zoya[/name]. I have [name]Zuri[/name] on my backup list. Or [name]Zahra[/name] is cool. I likes the name Azeli today in a name book… Good luck!
[name]Aurelia[/name]- She’s a real princess of a name! Too much so for me, I think, but she’s golden. :]
[name]Belinda[/name]- The sound is friendly and there’s actually nothing wrong with her, but I don’t think she’s ready for a resurgence just yet. There’s a very strong connotation of a cow name there, and I’m not sure why.
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name]- I do like both Tulia and [name]Tula[/name]! A lilac purple. Very fresh sounding, like spring!
[name]Zoya[/name]- Once I see the Russian connection, I think she could work. She does sound very nice! However, if you aren’t Russian or Eastern European it does seem rather spacey. At any rate, [name]Zelda[/name] seems more at ease with the other children.
[name]Eugenie[/name]- She is so spunky, I love her! [name]Eugenia[/name] is great too. She seems distinctly orange to me.
Hey [name]Lola[/name], Animal Farm is great! I’m reading it right now, I just finished 1984. [name]George[/name] Orwell is the coolest.
Huzzah for Animal Farm! Starting to see why [name]Napoleon[/name] will never be on my lists for a child? (Maybe a cat, though)
Have a favorite character yet? Mine’s Boxer.
Yes, huzzah indeed! My favorite character is [name]Benjamin[/name], although I find [name]Mollie[/name]'s prissiness to be endlessly amusing. “[name]Will[/name] there be ribbons after the revolution?” Prance, frolic Haha! Boxer is the most endearing character, his ending is heartbreaking.
Anyhow, off of this list, [name]Eugenie[/name] is my favorite, either pronunciation.
[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] - I love, love, love this name for many reasons. [name_f]Tullia[/name_f] - very pretty and unusual, but not shocking. (I don’t care for [name_f]Tula[/name_f], it looks like someone butchered [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f].)
[name_f]Belinda[/name_f] doesn’t impress me, but if I actually met a baby named [name_f]Belinda[/name_f] I might change my mind. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] or [name_f]Indie[/name_f] are trendy nns.
[name_f]Zoya[/name_f] - [name_f]Danielle[/name_f] [name_u]Steele[/name_u].
[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] - looks so pretty on paper but I don’t like saying it out loud.
I really like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]!
[name_f]Zoya[/name_f] makes me think of [name_f]Goya[/name_f], which is a food company.
[name_f]Eugenie[/name_f] has appeal.
The other two are okay.
[name]Aurelia[/name] - yes! [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].
[name]Belinda[/name] - I like this. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] / [name_f]Bel[/name_f] is a cute nn, as is the less obvious [name_f]Indi[/name_f].
[name]Tullia[/name]/[name]Tula[/name] - Not a fan. Would get called Tool.
[name]Zoya[/name] - Sorry - reminds me of Soya beans.
[name]Eugenie[/name] - I love this if pronounced like the [name_f]Princess[/name_f] in the Anglo-[name_m]French[/name_m] way (YOU-zhen-ee), not if pronounced the American way (you-[name_u]JEAN[/name_u]-ee).
Others you might like:
[name_f]Aurelie[/name_f] (cuts the last syllable and probably becomes a little less popular)
[name_f]Bonita[/name_f]
[name_u]Zola[/name_u]
[name_f]Euphemia[/name_f] or [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f]
