A few of my favorites

Here are a few of my very favorite name pairs right now. I’d love it if you would review!

(Note: All 2nd middles are family surnames.)

[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Thayer[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Helena[/name] [name]Massey[/name]
[name]Pauline[/name] [name]Willa[/name]
[name]Rosalba[/name] Melantho
[name]Petra[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Flora[/name] [name]Ingram[/name]

[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Thayer[/name]: I really like [name]Rosalind[/name], but I don’t like the repetitive “o” sounds is [name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Olive[/name]. What about [name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] or [name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Willa[/name]?

[name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Helena[/name] [name]Massey[/name]: What a lovely name! Are you pronouncing [name]Helena[/name] “Hel-len-uh” or “hel-LEEN-uh” ?

[name]Pauline[/name] [name]Willa[/name]: [name]Pauline[/name] is too dated for me, but I really like [name]Paulina[/name]. What about [name]Paulina[/name] [name]Rosalind[/name]?

[name]Rosalba[/name] Melantho: I’m not liking [name]Rosalba[/name] or Melantho at all. :frowning:

[name]Petra[/name] [name]Calliope[/name]: This flows beautifully, and I really like [name]Petra[/name] and [name]Calliope[/name] together.

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Flora[/name] [name]Ingram[/name]: For me, there are too many f’s in [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Flora[/name], but [name]Flora[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] flows beautifully. [name]Flora[/name] [name]Winifred[/name] [name]Ingram[/name] is goreous!

You’ve got some beautiful name combinations!

[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Thayer[/name] - I like the repetitive ‘O’ sounds here, sounds open and inviting. I love the color scheme too, pinks & greens. Still prefer [name]Thayer[/name] on a guy, but it’s not hurting anything here.

[name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Helena[/name] [name]Massey[/name] - I’m assuming helen-ah here, because otherwise the flow is too singsongy (at least for me). As is, [name]Helena[/name] feels perfectly lovely next to upright [name]Beatrice[/name]. [name]Lovely[/name]!

[name]Pauline[/name] [name]Willa[/name] - Alos not a fan of [name]Pauline[/name], it feels too 60 year old lady to me. [name]Paulina[/name]'s a bit more “now” feeling, And I don’t mine the repeated ‘a’ endings. The flow of [name]Pauline[/name] [name]Willa[/name] is lovely. I still prefer [name]Willa[/name] [name]Pauline[/name] more.

[name]Rosalba[/name] Melantho - Fellow lover of [name]Rosalba[/name] here, I find it perfectly lush and lovely. Melantho feels a bit sinister to me but otherwise I have no complaint. The flow is perfect.

[name]Petra[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] - I love this! [name]Petra[/name]'s one I love on other people’s kids. Strong and beautiful. [name]Calliope[/name] lightens her up perfectly.

[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Flora[/name] [name]Ingram[/name] - I don’t mind the repeated 'f’s here. I’m a huge fan of the F sound. And while I love [name]Flora[/name], I don’t like her up front, she’s too slight for me. [name]Winifred[/name]'s adorable, strong and whimsical both. Absolutely lovely, this. Probably my favorite here. And [name]Ingram[/name] feels solid here. Perfect.

Are you pronouncing [name]Rosalind[/name] as “rose-uh-lind” or “roz-uh-lind”? I do like [name]Rose[/name]-uh-lind [name]Olive[/name], but am not a fan of [name]Roz[/name]-uh-lind [name]Olive[/name].

Sorry for the delay! Thank you for the feedback, both of you. [name]Jill[/name]- I prefer [name]ROZ[/name]-uh-lind; the “[name]Rose[/name]” bit sounds a tad frilly, but sounds great on [name]Rosamund[/name]. Anyhow, thank you for the advice.

Oh, and [name]Lola[/name]- I’m not sure on [name]Helena[/name] yet. We called my sister He-[name]LANE[/name]-uh when she was a little girl, so that holds some sentimental value for me. However, her name is [name]Mary[/name] [name]Helen[/name], so HEH-len-uh isn’t a problem either. I’ll take the sing-songy thing into consideration. I understand the dated feeling of [name]Pauline[/name], and while I like [name]Paulina[/name], the former seems more rounded off and appealing for some reason. I like [name]Willa[/name] [name]Pauline[/name], too. :]

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_m]Thayer[/name_m] - I love the way this looks on paper, but like the other berries, I’m not sure it flows aloud.

[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Massey[/name_u] - I’m assuming it’s ‘hah-[name_m]LAY[/name_m]-nah’, and either way I love it. So sophisticated.

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Pauline[/name_f]. Overall it’s pretty, but I prefer something more substantial than [name_f]Willa[/name_f] with the calm and stately [name_f]Pauline[/name_f].

[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] Melantho - I’m not sure about Melantho. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you mean [name_f]Melantha[/name_f]? Either way, it doesn’t flow aloud, the two names slur into each other a bit, and feels unfamiliar.

[name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - I love [name_f]Petra[/name_f], it’s one of my favourites, but are you pronouncing it PAY-truh and cal-ee-OH-pay? That would be too much of that sound for me. If not, I’d still say it sounds almost science-fiction-y.

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_m]Ingram[/name_m] - looks very beautiful. My second favourite after [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Massey[/name_u].

I played around a bit with these, hope you don’t mind:

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] [name_u]Massey[/name_u]

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_f]Winifred[/name_f]

[name_f]Pauline[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_m]Ingram[/name_m]

[name_f]Petra[/name_f] [name_f]Olive[/name_f]

[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] [name_f]Rosa[/name_f] [name_m]Ingram[/name_m]

[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f] (I think this is really pretty, and you could probably use any of your second middles with it.)

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] is so pretty!!!

Hello - my two cents:

[name]Rosalind[/name] [name]Olive[/name] [name]Thayer[/name] - Like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] and [name_m]Thayer[/name_m], but [name_f]Olive[/name_f] seems to break the flow.
[name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Helena[/name] [name]Massey[/name] nice flow.
[name]Pauline[/name] [name]Willa[/name] - Like both names on their own, but not convinced by the flow.
[name]Rosalba[/name] Melantho - Feels a bit much. Maybe [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Pauline[/name_f] Melantho would be better. Each more common name balances out the unusual one, letting each type of name shine.
[name]Petra[/name] [name]Calliope[/name] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] THIS - excellent flow and balance (am assuming you are pron. [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - Cah-lye-oh-pea)
[name]Winifred[/name] [name]Flora[/name] [name]Ingram[/name][/QUOTE] - REALLY [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] THIS!!! I think I’d like it better if [name_f]Petra[/name_f] replaced [name_f]Flora[/name_f].
