A few questions about Seraphina...

Okay I have a few quick questions…

[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Seraphina[/name] and [name]Selena[/name] sound too similar? To the point where it would be weird or like you were “copying”.

What do you think about [name]Seraphina[/name]??? I know everyone gets different vibes from names, but to me [name]Seraphina[/name] feels–
girly/frilly/princessy, classy/royal, whimsical, a little magical, celestial, and I love the connection the name has to angels.

I know [name]Seraphina[/name] is pretty popular on this website, but how popular do you think it actually is in real life?

I’m from the USA by the way.

I really like [name]Seraphina[/name]. To me, it feels like an exquisitely danced performance of Swan [name]Lake[/name]. Delicate and ethereal, but with real fire inside.

I would only find it odd if we were talking about sisters named [name]Selena[/name] and [name]Seraphina[/name], and then only slightly so. There are similar sounds, but they are two distinct names with their own histories. Plus, they have entirely different feels, at least in my opinion.

As for popularity, it isn’t at all. [name]Seraphina[/name] has never charted in the top 1,000 in the US.

That’s such a creative description! Made me like the name even more! Thanks for the reply.

[name]Seraphina[/name] is not popular in real life. I do think it sounds too similar to [name]Selena[/name] for a sibset for sure.
It is a bit frilly, but i’m sure if people were to hear it out in the world they would probably say “wow, how beautiful” It just has that ring to it, which is likely why so many berries tend to gravitate towards it.

I have met a young lady named [name]Sarafina[/name], and it works fine. I prefer [name]Seraphina[/name] though for the spelling. [name]Seraphina[/name] is very beautiful and I think it will work well in the USA.

It depends. I think they’re too close for sisters, but if your best friend has a baby named [name]Selena[/name], and you name your baby [name]Seraphina[/name], I don’t think it’s an issue at all.

I like [name]Seraphina[/name], but personally prefer [name]Seraphine[/name].
I think they both give off a lovely vibe.

I’m not sure. My art prof’s daughter’s name is [name]Seraphina[/name], and it gave me a jolt when she said it  but that’s the only [name]Seraphina[/name] I’ve ever come across, so I’m not sure how the general public perceives it.

Anyone else have any opinions they want to share???

I love [name]Seraphina[/name] and think your description is pretty right on, though I would add I also get a “fiery” vibe due to the meaning.

It definitely has religious connotations, which some don’t like but I love.

I think [name]Seraphina[/name] is starting to get some interest among the more hip baby namers and celebs, but as someone mentioned it has never been in the top 1,000 in the US which puts it firmly in the realm of the unusual. However it is probably at least somewhat familiar to most people.

I personally really like it. And I wish my husband did too. It’s too “fancy” for him. :frowning:

Thx for the help everyone!
