A few unusual ones

Any thoughts on these…

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f] (Il-ee-ahn-uh)

[name_f]Galilea[/name_f]

Endora

[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - slightly concerned about lack of obvious nicknames?

I love [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]…
Nn for [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]:
[name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_u]Cal[/name_u]
[name_m]Lio[/name_m]
Ope (cute family nn probably :))

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f] - this one is okay. It makes me think of “ill [name_f]Liana[/name_f],” though. [name_f]Iuliana[/name_f] is an interesting alternative.

[name_f]Galilea[/name_f] - I adore this name! It reminds me of the beautiful sea [name_f]Galilee[/name_f].

Endora - reminds me of the eccentric mother on Bewitched. In a good way.

[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] - pretty, but a little childish in sound, to my for some reason. I think it’s the “lala” syllables.

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - Meh. The least exotic of this list. Nicknames are [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Lolo[/name_f], [name_f]Clio[/name_f], etc.

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f] - a little too frilly for my taste. I’m not a fan of names that begin with “il”.
[name_f]Galilea[/name_f] - strangely enough, this feminine name doesn’t sound as frilly as [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] to me. Maybe it’s because of it’s association with the male astronomer [name_m]Galileo[/name_m]. I love it’s lushness.
Endora - all I think about is the meddling mother Endora in “Bewitched”.
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] - a saintly name but I do prefer the [name_m]French[/name_m] spelling of [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - it’s ok but I like other Greek mythological names better (eg. [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]). Nicknames could be [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_u]Ali[/name_u], [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or even Opie.

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f]: So gorgeous and sounds quite European (without being too specific) which I like too! The only downfall is that the meaning is boring!
[name_f]Galilea[/name_f]: It’s interesting, but a little too Italian for my taste. I personally prefer names that are harder to pinpoint. This one may raise a few eyebrows if you’re from [name_u]America[/name_u] like I am.
Endora: Reminds me of “Bewitched” and because of this, it’s a no-go.
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]: I REALLY want to like this name. It’s unusual, pretty to write and look at, and means “sweet-speaking”. Somehow though, whenever I say the name I feel like I have marbles in my mouth! I feel like I’m speaking gibberish. Can’t say yes to this one, sadly.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]: Very quirky and one my guy’s current favorites. I’m warming up to it, but I’m afraid of pronunication trouble from strangers. The meaning is pleasant.

Overall, [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] was my favorite name on this list for being rare, beautiful to the ear and on paper, and easy to spell. The boring meaning is trumped by all of the other factors. [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] comes in second!

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f]- pretty name but for some reason it sounds generic to me, maybe because of all the little girls names starting with [name_m]Ol[/name_m]/[name_m]Al[/name_m]/[name_f]El[/name_f]/Il names that are popular right now

[name_f]Galilea[/name_f]- it’s pretty reminds me of [name_f]Mattea[/name_f]

Endora- makes me think of a cranky old witch, sorry :frowning: I prefer Endelyn or [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]

[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]- I love this name, it’s unique and charming

[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] - [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is the most natural nickname though I personally prefer the full name, I might consider using the nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] though

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]. I have considered this one for my first daughter and would again. I also like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] with nn [name_f]Clio[/name_f] but I much prefer [name_u]Calypso[/name_u] which I realise isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The other names don’t do it for me.

I have Endora, [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] and [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] on my list, all beautiful names. I prefer [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] to [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], but I’m still not a huge fan. For some reason it really reminds me of doolally. [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] is lovely, I really like the -lea ending! I love [name_f]Clio[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]; the [name_f]Muse[/name_f] link is kind of cool.

[name_f]Iliana[/name_f] — Pretty, but nms.
[name_f]Galilea[/name_f] — Gorgeous name. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Galatea[/name_f], by any chance?
Endora — Like a bit, but don’t love.
[name_f]Eulalia[/name_f] — Stunning name, and I really enjoy its name meaning of well-spoken.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] — Cute name, don’t love though. I think it’s got many potential nicknames but previous posters have covered them well

Overall my favorite is [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] or [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f].

Thank you ladies!

Right now I’m definitely leaning towards [name_f]Iliana[/name_f], [name_f]Galilea[/name_f] and [name_f]Eulalia[/name_f]. I love the quirky [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] but [name_f]Callie[/name_f] makes it very mainstream and I don’t like that.

I think [name_f]Iliana[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] could well be making it on to my list, wdyt?
