A few weeks left and no name for baby boy! Please help! :)

Hey there! I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child and need some help/opinions. My first son is Isaiah.

Names that I love:
Malachi
Alijah
Amias

Cassian

I really like biblical sounding names as you can tell and am not one for common names!

Thanks in advance!

I think [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] is more on the common side so I wouldn’t go too far away with [name_m]Amias[/name_m] or [name_u]Cairo[/name_u]. I think the best choice is [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], or [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] and [name_m]Elijah[/name_m] (changing the spelling on Alijah). However, you will know once he is born the perfect name for him!

Congratulations

I absolutely love [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] he’s my favourite followed by [name_m]Amias[/name_m] & [name_m]Cassian[/name_m]. They would all sound fabulous with [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]. If it was me I would choose [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]. [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is a lovely name with great biblical history in Judaism he is the last prophet the meaning ‘messenger of G-d’ is lovely. I also love the nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u]. Anyways [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] & [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] I think would be lovely.

Thank you! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I LOVE Malachi and he was supposed to be Malachi… we live in London where Malachi is a strong black name and MIL (who is black Caribbean) commented that he may get discriminated against on things like job applications… so now I’m not sure :pensive: I know in America it’s used more diversely… such a shame it’s something that we even need to think of in this day and age!

@Mamaof2.1995 I live in Kent originally from London and am in a interracial relationship my OH is Black British (Ugandan descent born in Lambeth) and our daughter Lilia is of course mixed race. My OH absolutely loves Malachi that’s the name we’d use if we were ever blessed with a son. I understand that the name is used rather commonly in the black community but it’s also used in the Jewish community (my mum is Jewish) and Irish community (Malachy is normally the spelling my dad is Irish/Scottish) so I do think the name is rather diverse used by a variation of people. I get people do get discriminated against for variation of different reasons but names are becoming more & more diverse so when your child is applying for jobs or whatever I don’t think that would affect him. Also a lot of CVs when processed to employers the name is left off along with age to prevent discrimination I think your MIL is thinking a little too deeply (being slightly stereotypical) and this coming from someone in an interracial relationship where race is a massive subject in our relationship even more so now that we have Lilia. I think it’s kinda sad not to use a name because your child could be mistaken for being black & discriminated against shows that has a society we’re really not moving forward which sucks really :frowning:

[name_m]Amias[/name_m], [name_u]Cairo[/name_u] and [name_m]Cassian[/name_m] are my favourites. Though I love [name_u]Alijah[/name_u] too, it’s a bit too close to [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] for me.

I absolutely ADORE [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]. So many great nicknames, and it’s uncommon while still established. [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] has always been on my boys name list.
