these are some of my current favorite korean names. thought i’d share with a fun little caf (and only belatedly realized they’re not the easiest names for it)
koreans have one given name only, please choose only one per person
(feel free to add names in other languages to make longer international names!)
parent (s): minji, taeyeon, baram, ara, yeon, beom
ds: yohan, sijin, nuri, ideun, dam
ds: yiahn/ian, hani, harang, daeyang, jun
dd: areum, ye(-)eum, dalae, bomi, byeol
dc: jimin, yedam, haneul, noeul, yul
korean crash course
eu - uh; ae = e = elizabeth; eo = oliver; j = english j; for everything else, channel your inner spanish speaker
spellings you can change: u = oo; i = ee, y; adding h next to vowels for clarity (see, ahn instead of an so it doesn’t become anne for you)
fun fact: it is common practice in korea for siblings of the same gender to share a syllable of their name, unless they have monosyllabic names ofc.
for korean speakers, i tried making this as simple as possible, please don’t come for me
