[name_m]Hi[/name_m] I’m looking for some names known as ‘filler’. They are short names that are great to use, in my opinion, after a long or complex first name. They help ground the name and help with associating the gender. They are most of the time classic and not too abstract.
For example: [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], [name_m]Hartigan[/name_m] [name_u]Drew[/name_u]
For boys [name_u]James[/name_u] is very common, and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for girls. I’m going to skip those simply because I don’t like them much.
If I get rid of my more out-there one-syllable names and stick to ones that are pretty old/classic, I’ve got:
Boys:
[name_u]Drew[/name_u], [name_u]Finn[/name_u], [name_m]Hale[/name_m], [name_m]Heath[/name_m], [name_m]Hugh[/name_m], [name_m]Joel[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_m]Moss[/name_m], [name_m]Piers[/name_m], [name_u]Rhys[/name_u], [name_u]Reed[/name_u], [name_m]Saul[/name_m], [name_u]Shane[/name_u], [name_m]Zane[/name_m].
[name_m]Joel[/name_m] is both the most classic-in-English-usage and one of my big-time favourites. I like [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] but it’s a bit old-fashioned. [name_m]Moss[/name_m] and [name_m]Saul[/name_m] are old names in my family. [name_u]Shane[/name_u] and [name_m]Zane[/name_m] are both international forms of [name_m]John[/name_m] - I like [name_m]John[/name_m] as a first and [name_u]Shane[/name_u]/[name_m]Zane[/name_m] as middles I think?
