A Leap Year baby name?

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries! I am due on Leap Year. If the baby is born that day, I would like to have a special reserved name just for that day. Can you all think of any creative names that have a Leap Year meaning, vibe, or relativity? This will be fun! Thanks

Suggestions:

[name_f]Julia[/name_f]- [name_m]Julius[/name_m] [name_m]Caesar[/name_m] introduced the leap year
[name_f]Delta[/name_f]- leap year occurs every four years and [name_f]Delta[/name_f] has ties to ‘fourth’
[name_f]Romana[/name_f]- leap year originated from the [name_m]Roman[/name_m] Empire and [name_f]Romana[/name_f] means ‘a [name_m]Roman[/name_m]’
[name_f]Juba[/name_f]- this coming Leap Year [name_u]Day[/name_u] falls on a [name_f]Monday[/name_f] and [name_f]Juba[/name_f] means ‘born on [name_f]Monday[/name_f]’

This is all I can think of for now; I hope this helps!

I thought about this for a bit-- my first son missed being a Leap [name_u]Day[/name_u] baby by 3 hours. There’s definitely no name I can think of that would mean “born on a day that only happens once every four years to correct an error in the solar calendar,” but if you’re willing to be creative, we can find something.

[name_f]Nadira[/name_f]: “rare”
Athana: Germanic name meaning “year”
[name_f]Horatia[/name_f]: “period, time, season”
Zamana: “time, age, era”
Idana “era”
[name_f]Farida[/name_f] “unique, precious”
Wahida “peerless, unique”
Berezi “special”
[name_u]Dagny[/name_u] “new day”
Lindita “the day is born”
[name_f]Dawn[/name_f]

Names that sound like Year, [name_u]Day[/name_u], or Leap

Yaara “honeysuckle”
[name_f]Dacia[/name_f] (prn [name_u]DAY[/name_u]-sha): old [name_m]Roman[/name_m] name describing a place, [name_f]Dacia[/name_f]

[name_f]Liane[/name_f] “sun”

Alternatively you could give her the initials [name_m]LY[/name_m] or LD.

I love the suggestion of [name_u]Dagny[/name_u]! “[name_m]New[/name_m] day” how wonderful!

Other names with ties to the fourth…

[name_f]April[/name_f] - the fourth month
[name_f]Clover[/name_f] - as in four leaf clover and a symbol of luck (you could say it’s pretty lucky to be born on 29th Feb!)

My aunt was born on Feb 29 and is called Antinea after the Queen of Atlantis, the lost city, as the 29th is like a disappearing day. I always loved that story.

Other ‘leap’ or disappearing names:
Atalanta - for Atlantis itself
Salita - related to the latin word Salito which means to leap. Could have ‘Sally’ or “Lita” as a nn.
Olympia or Olympa - leap years are (usually) Olympic Games years - nice tie in
Blue - for a blue moon
Aleapia or Leapora - has the word ‘leap’ in it

[name_f]Talullah[/name_f] is another good one - it’s means ‘leaping water’
