Our top 3 are [name]August[/name], [name]Felix[/name] & [name]Ian[/name] but we haven’t finalised any middle names yet. He told me this morning that he doesnt feel that either 3 are ‘the one’. I told him that we’ll probably see the baby and know which of the names we want to use for him but he’s not convinced. I understand why he’s worried, I am a little bit too. I don’t love any of the three names enough to say ‘We’re DEFINITELY using that name’, but I figured that we’d just choose the one that ‘is him’, which is similar to what we did with [name]Hazel[/name]…
When our daughter was born we had a list of 3 names, [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Luella[/name] & [name]Everly[/name] but really we knew that we wanted it to be [name]Hazel[/name], so [name]Luella[/name] & [name]Everly[/name] were really just backup names. This time around I don’t have that and now that my DH has brought it up, I’m worried that we’ll be in an awkward situation when he’s born.
So, I thought I’d make a list of names that we also like so if [name]August[/name], [name]Felix[/name] or [name]Ian[/name] don’t feel right at all when he’s born then we have a list to refer to, to find a name. Or we might even change our top 3 altogether because I feel like I have reasons not to use each of them…
So does anyone have any suggestions for a brother to [name]Hazel[/name] [name]Naomi[/name]?
While I do like the name [name]Ian[/name] it doesn’t seem to go well with [name]Hazel[/name]. By the way, absolutely love the name [name]Hazel[/name], great choice for your girl. [name]How[/name] about:
[name]Harvey[/name]
[name]Frederick[/name]
[name]Gilbert[/name]
[name]Walter[/name]
[name]Chester[/name]
[name]Thaddeus[/name]
[name]William[/name]
In your signature you have [name]Brooks[/name] listed, that would be my ultimate choice. [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Brooks[/name]: [name]Both[/name] a little nature, a little trendy, a little classic and all around beautiful/handsome.
Thanks for the feedback! [name]Haven[/name]'t had much time in the past through days to read through the replies properly.
From all of your suggestions, I like [name]Atticus[/name], [name]Owen[/name], [name]William[/name], [name]Lionel[/name], [name]Silas[/name], [name]Asher[/name], [name]Jasper[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Leon[/name] and [name]Bennett[/name].
I like [name]Asher[/name], [name]Jasper[/name] & [name]Arthur[/name] the most though! [name]Will[/name] suggest all of these names to DH
When I read your post, the first name to come to mind to go with little [name]Hazel[/name] was [name]Calvin[/name], or even [name]Callum[/name], nn [name]Cal[/name].
Asked hubby about the suggested names and he really likes [name]Arthur[/name] and so do I. We did consider it when we were looking for [name]Hazel[/name] but obviously she turned out to be a girl anyway. Looks like [name]Arthur[/name] is a contender!
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Calvin[/name] so much but my DH’s cousin is [name]Calvin[/name] who comes around often.
I agree, [name]Arthur[/name] is definitely my favorite of [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Ian[/name], [name]August[/name], and [name]Felix[/name] but I have to say that [name]Felix[/name] is pretty great too! I often wonder if [name]Felix[/name] is on the verge of getting really common or if I am just spending more time on Nameberry than I need to…
I think we’ve narrowed it down to either [name]Felix[/name], [name]Arthur[/name], [name]August[/name] or [name]Brooks[/name], [name]Felix[/name] & [name]Arthur[/name] are our top choices at the moment though!
rosebyanyothername - I think [name]Felix[/name] is getting more popular which puts us off the name a little bit, but [name]Arthur[/name] is getting quite popular too in our area so we’re trying not to let the popularity get to us! I don’t think it’s nameberry that’s making you think that!
Another vote for [name]Arthur[/name] here. [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Art[/name]
@elenalou: I felt the same way you are feeling when we were naming our third son, and to a certain extent feeling the same now as we contemplate names for son number 4. I had been totally convinced of ‘THE NAME’ for our second, but for our third we had a lot of names we loved, but none stood out as the definitive choice… maybe it’s an effect of having such a strong conviction about a name first time round (or just a common thing when naming a second or subsequent child).
Anyway, good luck! I think you probably can’t go wrong with any of your choices.
