We just found out baby #2 is a boy, and are shortening our list of potential boy names. [name_f]My[/name_f] top pick is [name_m]Orlando[/name_m], but I worry about how it sounds with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - I don’t want anything that feels too matchy. Our last name is a popular Latin surname that starts with an R.
Our list:
[name_u]August[/name_u] or [name_m]Augustin[/name_m]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m]
[name_m]Roman[/name_m]
Any thoughts? We are open to other suggestions but my husband prefers names that are easily pronounced in Spanish, as well (he’s mostly not a fan of names with long I’s.)
I don’t think [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] goes well with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]…it’s a little to close to [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and they seem like their completely different styles. From your list I think [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] go best. I also think the names [name_m]Jack[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] go well with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], I think they sound great together! [name_f]My[/name_f] second favourite is [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
I know 2 little boys named [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], both of which have younger brothers called [name_m]Caleb[/name_m]. So I think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] work well together.
From your list I feel more for [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] at the moment
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] was my first thought…and it’s on your list! They sound great together. Two of my favorite boy names (on the more popular side). [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] gives off a completely different vibe and clashes with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m].
I love the sound of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m]!
Congratulations
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] or [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] have my vote they compliment each other best [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] for sure! [name_m]Henry[/name_m] is also nice but [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is super lovely.
Thank you for all of the responses! After thinking on it for awhile, I agree that [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] has a totally different feel than [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. I think [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] is now the front runner.
I love [name_m]Augustin[/name_m] because it’s my son’s name! I think it works well with [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] as do all the others on your list except for [name_m]Roman[/name_m] and (sorry [name_m]Orlando[/name_m]). I think [name_m]Orlando[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] are just too different in “feel” while being too close together in sound. Good luck!
