Hi everyone!
This is on an entirely hypothetical sibset of: Thessaly, Tamar and Atticus!
I posted the other day about this set here the other day, and got some wonderful thoughts and I now have it more solidly in my head!
So:
-
Thessaly Hannah is staying! I’ve decided I like it a lot and it works!
-
Tamar is probably going to be either Tamar Louise or Tamar Louisa - but Eloise and Eloisa are possibilities too! (Tamar is pronounced ‘Tay-mar’)
Which do you prefer?
- Tamar Louise
- Tamar Louisa
- Tamar Eloise
- Tamar Eloisa
- I’m very much up in the air about Atticus’s middle. The original was Atticus James, but it was very much a filler, not one I personally enjoy.
Some options I do in mind:
Atticus Hugo
Atticus George
Atticus Mars
Atticus Marshall
Atticus Elijah
Atticus Jonah
Atticus Rory
Atticus Benjamin
Do any of these work? What would you use as a middle to complete the set?
Some bonus questions if you're bored or need distraction:
-
What nicknames would you use for Thessaly, Tamar and Atticus? You’re welcome to make some using your favourite middle options too if you so wish!
-
What would you name a brother and/or sister to the set?
I hope everyone is having the best day they can
If it feels bright today, I hope it continues; if it doesn’t, I hope it feels just a little brighter soon
Thank you for anyone who chooses to comment!

I really like [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]! What a fun combo.
For the [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] combo, I am feeling [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. [name_u]Louise[/name_u] doesn’t quite feel like a filler middle name, but it feels way more expected than [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]. I feel like Eloise/Eloisa are okay with [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] but the flow is better with the consonant-leading middles. I also feel like [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] fits the spirit of [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] better, in terms of this sibset, if that makes sense.
In this sibset, I would probably pair [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] with a less “trending” name to match [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [middle], especially since that first name itself seems to be having a moment too. Therefore, the best options from your list I would say are [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]George[/name_u], [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Marshall[/name_m], and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Benjamin[/name_u]. I really like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Marshall[/name_m]! It’s really distinct, strong, and handsome.
For nicknames, I would probably use [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_u]Tay[/name_u] or [name_u]Mar[/name_u], and no nickname for [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]. I went to school with an [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] (he was born before the name took off!) and no one ever shortened his name - it’s such a fast, smooth name that it never seemed necessary. [name_f]Atty[/name_f] would be cute for a familiar pet name though.
I love [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_u]Louise[/name_u] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]George[/name_u].
For me, [name_u]Louise[/name_u] or [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] flow best with [name_f]Tamar[/name_f], and [name_u]George[/name_u] has a similar regal feel to [name_m]Atticus[/name_m].
[name_f]Atti[/name_f] or [name_f]Atty[/name_f] are great nicknames for [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]!

@Youssarian thank you for your thoughts!
Yeah, that makes total sense! I think Louisa is probably what I’m leaning towards and you’ve kind of put into words as to why it was feeling more ‘right’ than Louise atm!
Atticus Marshall just came to mind today, so I’m glad you think it works!
Thank you for the nickname ideas too! Mar and Tess are fun!
@EloiseM11 thank you for your thoughts! I do think Atticus George fits well with the set!! Atti is growing on me too

With Thess@ly [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] I like….
[name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] or [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u].
I like a classic TWO syllable name with [name_m]Atticus[/name_m].
Thessaly Hannah, Tamar Louise & Atticus Jonah
I also really like Atticus Jem but it feels like a bit of a blunt ending coming after the other two with their 2 syllable middles.
Thessaly: Sally.
Tamar: Tay (probably spelt Tae)
Atticus: I’d try to make Kit work, but I think we’d find Atti more natural
@diane921 thank you for your thoughts! [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] is nice and [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Edward[/name_u] made me think of [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Edwin[/name_m]
@EdgeOfTheMeadow thank you so much for your thoughts! I like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Jem[/name_u] too but maybe a bit too To Kill A Mockingbird?
[name_u]Tay[/name_u] and [name_u]Kit[/name_u] are cute and [name_f]Sally[/name_f] for Thessaly!? How haven’t I considered that before?!

Oh yes of course! Oh dear, sleepy Saturday morning brain, here
[name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is a wonderful combo! Kudos.
For [name_f]Tamar[/name_f], I prefer Louise/Louisa to Eloise/Eloisa, I think the flow is a little nicer since the r runs into the e a little bit when I say it. I voted for [name_u]Louise[/name_u] as a personal favourite, though I do like how [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] has the same number of syllables as [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. I would probably default to [name_f]Tammy[/name_f] as a nickname, but you could use [name_f]Mari[/name_f], [name_f]Tammy[/name_f] [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_m]Tam[/name_m].
For [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], I really like [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Mars[/name_u]! It’s so cool, though a bit more out there compared with the girls middles. Second favourites from your list would be [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]George[/name_u] or [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Jonah[/name_u].
Other ideas for [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]:
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Martin[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Dean[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Jeremy[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
Of these I think [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Henry[/name_u] fits the best with his sisters so I’d personally choose that. I love [name_u]Kit[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], but I’m also partial to [name_m]Art[/name_m]. You could also use [name_f]Attie[/name_f], [name_u]Otter[/name_u] or [name_m]Tico[/name_m].
I like [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] as a sister name, and [name_m]Warren[/name_m] as a brother.
