Hello everyone, I am expecting another girl in [name]October[/name] and I need some serious help naming her! My older daughter is named [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name]. I am having trouble finding names with the same feel as [name]Cora[/name], vintage but fresh sounding. My criteria: not too long, not overly feminine/frilly, not made up or trendy sounding, has history or cool story behind it. I don’t mind names on the unusual side, as long as they aren’t too hard to pronounce. Preferably not in the top 200 or so. And it must sound okay with our last name, [name]Anderson[/name].
Names I was considering but my partner has vetoed: [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Roma[/name], [name]Rosalia[/name], and [name]Simone[/name].
Also looking for awesome vintage, retro names for the middle spot.
First name that popped into my head was [name]Millie[/name]. I love [name]Millie[/name]. Adorable, pretty, vintagy feel and I think [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Millie[/name] sound very sweet together as a sibset without being matchy.
I like [name]Blythe[/name] and [name]Jillian[/name], [name]Dolores[/name] and [name]Florence[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Blythe[/name] is hard to pronounce? People always look at me funny when I say it.
You said you like [name]Ruby[/name] but it’s rising popularity throws you off. [name]How[/name] about another gem name like [name]Opal[/name] or [name]Pearl[/name]? [name]Pearl[/name] seems to be getting more attention as well, but more in the middle name spot than the first, I think.
My first thought was [name]Jane[/name]. I think [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Jane[/name] [name]Louise[/name] are a great sibset! Also, what about [name]Tess[/name]? [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Tess[/name] [name]Adeline[/name] work well. I also like [name]Alice[/name] as suggested above too. [name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Alice[/name] [name]Opal[/name]?
Other suggestions that I think would work well with [name]Cora[/name] and meet your criteria–
[name]Cora[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name] were my first thought.
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Ida[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Opal[/name] [name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Vera[/name] [name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Etta[/name] [name]Florence[/name]
[name]Cora[/name] [name]Frances[/name] and [name]Gemma[/name] [name]Edith[/name]
