We are TTC #3 soon because we’re gluttons for punishment. Which begs the question…what would you name [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]'s (hypothetical) little sister…?
Notes: My favourites are [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. Husband probably prefers [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. Second middle would most likely be [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]May[/name_f]. First middle would most likely be [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]? [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]? [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]?
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] as siblings!! And all the names on your list would go beautifully with them :). However, my favourite is [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I feel it holds the same level of spunk and class as [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], and [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is just adorable. I also love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] (my second choice!), [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] :).
As for middle names…
My favourite combination would be [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] :).
From your list I love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. Hard to choose a favourite but probably [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] as I think it bridges [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] quite nicely.
I love your children’s names! My favourites from your list are [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. I do notice that [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] are two syllables, so I lean towards your two syllable options.
[name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] sounds sooo good together! For a little sister I am loving [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] from your list.
Personally I do not care for [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] much, but I love the other names on your list! [name_f]Louise[/name_f], [name_u]Eloise[/name_u], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are so charming!
I love your children’s names and your list. I would however cross [name_f]Louise[/name_f] off as it doesn’t have the same chic vibe as your children’s and the others on your list.
My favourites with your family are: [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f].
While I love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] you already have [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] (maybe [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] in the middle?). I also love [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and it does go beautifully but it seems a ‘little sister’ name in the 3rd spot whereas I’d like to see something with a very strong vibe for the 3rd child. [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] work and have a sweet quirkiness, but are just not favourites of mine. [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] is much better than [name_f]Louise[/name_f], but again, not a strong favourite for me.
Thanks everyone for your advice and suggestions! It’s very much appreciated.
@musicwaves – Thank you! I do love [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] as a combination and the nickname of [name_f]Bea[/name_f] is just adorable. I also really love your other suggestions of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (although I’m afraid it’d be confused with [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] a lot). [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is lovely, but it’s my husband’s cousin’s name (otherwise it’d be on our list). @toronto87 – [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is right up there on my list too! @greyblue – Thanks! Thanks for your suggestions! @gia.berry – Thank you! I have wondered if I should use another two syllable name. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] have matching syllable counts for all three of their names (which was not on purpose as [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] was chosen at the last minute). But I’m not fussed if #3 doesn’t have a two syllable name. Your suggestions are great. I particularly like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] (and also [name_f]Flora[/name_f] [name_f]Marguerite[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f] from your signature)! @leafsgirl44 – Thanks for your suggestions! I love [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. Super cute. @sorceress – Thanks for your suggestions! [name_m]How[/name_m] cute is [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]? @luneth – Thank you! [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Blythe[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f] are both lovely suggestions! @world_wanderer – Thanks for your suggestions! @jonquils – A very helpful vague commentary haha, thank you! I think you’re on the money with most of your ramblings. I do adore [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and both have been on my list for a very long time. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] was almost named [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. So it’s definitely a strong contender if #3 is a girl. When [name_f]Violet[/name_f] was born she had lots of dark hair (still does) and I just thought she didn’t look like a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. To me, a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is fairer. So we chose [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and I assumed I’d never have a [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. Then [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] was born and he’s much fairer than [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. So if we have a fairer girl, then [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is back on the cards! @araminty – Thanks for your suggestions! I do wonder if [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] suits with [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but it’s a real favourite of mine so it’s still on the list! [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] are all right up there too!
After reading through suggestions and reviewing my list, I’ve made a few changes and our list is now somewhat shortened to a top six…
Hands down…[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]! [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] make me swoon. [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]!
As far as the others, [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are nice but don’t have the lilting sound of [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f].
Too early 20th century for my taste (remind me of old ladies):
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
These names, also too old-fashioned, just sound downright awful to me:
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Blythe[/name_f]
I love the names [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]! They’re gorgeous names. I love all of your choices but I think a baby girl with an “E” name would sound so delightful and elegant.
Here are some of my favourite names that start with an E…
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]/[name_f]Everleigh[/name_f]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_f]Elle[/name_f] (pronounced [name_f]Ellie[/name_f])
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
Here are some other suggestions that could fit with [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]…
[name_u]Wynter[/name_u]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]
[name_u]Brighton[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_f]Lux[/name_f]
Brynnleigh
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u]
[name_f]Madelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are my favorites from your shortlist!
I love [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] but it does repeat the H of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] as well as “et” at the end of [name_f]Violet[/name_f]. For that reason I personally wouldn’t choose it.
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] is also beautiful but it does sound a little incomplete to me. Personal preference is [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] are lovely names as well, I just think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are spunkier.
