A Man named Zoe

I was watching TV the other night and, amongst several [name]Indian[/name] or Middle Eastern or some such names, there was a man named [name]Zoe[/name]. He was probably in his 30s and a businessman. I just thought I’d share.

Most interesting other name on the show – Kout, pronounced like coot. She was an older woman.

[name]Hi[/name] Dantea, hope you’re well. Interesting. Did he pronounce it one syllable like “zoe” or two syllables?

Oh, I forgot to say. I said it like ZOH (one syllable) but still…you know he’s been called [name]Zoe[/name] (zoh-ee) so often!

With one syllable, it seems so much like [name]Joe[/name], [name]Moe[/name], [name]Bo[/name], etc. that it doesn’t seem so terribly feminine to me. Also, perhaps because I’ve met so, so many boys named [name]Zachary[/name], the Z beginning seems quite masculine (tho I like it for either gender.)
