So, I’ve completed a post-apocalyptic novel. I’m now writing a sequel.
The plot of my first book: Several decades after war tore apart the world, a dictatorship has risen and rules a majority of the world’s fallen nations. The dictator (called ‘The Chairman’) rules people ruthlessly. The protagonist, [name]Mary[/name], along with others, are rising up and are planning a rebellion after they discovered devastating secrets about the remnants of their world.
The sequel follows a twenty-year-old man who was held in a prisoner camp ever since he was fourteen. There, he was tortured for years–whipped, beaten, and burned. He also had four of his fingers cut off. He was born with the ability to heal other people with a touch, however, his gift cannot be used on himself, which is why he is webbed with scars.
He escapes with the help of a band of outsiders who were looting the camp. The outsiders’ “culture” has affected his appearance, so now he has a shaved head, piercings, and tattoos. He’s desperate to find his girlfriend, Serabeth, who was separated from him when he was captured by soldiers and taken to the torture camp.
Despite his intimidating appearance, he is distant, soft-spoken, and gentle.
So, I need a name for him. [name]Just[/name] to give you an idea of things I’d like, here are names of other characters: [name]Mary[/name], [name]Noel[/name], [name]Logan[/name] (girl), [name]Virgil[/name], [name]Lucan[/name], [name]Isaac[/name] “[name]Ike[/name]”, Serabeth “[name]Sera[/name]”, [name]Kenneth[/name] “Keth”, [name]Cadmus[/name], [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Leo[/name], [name]Alec[/name], [name]Wilhelmina[/name] “[name]Mina[/name]”, [name]Vesuvius[/name].
I’ve considered tons of names, but I’m really lost on this guy. I’d appreciate a lot of suggestions.
Thank you!
