My husband and I love the name [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f]) for our little girl due in [name_u]June[/name_u]. We are having trouble picking a MN. Our last name is two syllables and starts with M. This is our list so far. Any suggestions?
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] are very likeable.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is my favorite from your list. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] reminds me of [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_u]Green[/name_u] Gables, so how about [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f].
I’m in love with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! It’s one of my favorite names. And I also agree with the one syllable middle names. [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] from your list. But [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] is super striking!
I personally think it’s the long a sound in [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] that gives the name as a whole a variety. You could also consider: (Sorry if there are any repeats)
I agree with smnthphylls, and many of the previous suggestions! The short, strong “ae” sound is such a complement to the long, soft [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. My favorites for you are (in order of preference):
I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] from your list, and also like [name_f]Paige[/name_f] with it. Suggestions of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Violet[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are all lovely.
I also like one-syllable middle names with [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]. For me, though, I prefer a soft sound to come next rather than a harder sound like a J (as much as I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f] as mns). I think the “ya” sound at the end of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] makes going to the “jah” sound a bit awkward… could just be me though:)
If your surname begins with an M, then you may not like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] M… (some ppl don’t like alliteration, while it doesn’t bother others).
I think of [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f] is a pretty combination.
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] (though that seems a bit to [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m].)
I love [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Paige[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. It’s weird because I usually hate traditional simple middle names, but they sound gorgeous here.
