A middle name for Cosmo please anyone?

DH and I are delighted with our choice of [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] for our little boy for many reasons. However we are now REALLY struggling with the middle name. DH likes [name_u]James[/name_u], I do too but worry that it is too common, also worries me that it means supplanter!! I love [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] but don’t want him to supplant DS who is still only 8!!!
I also liked [name_m]Rafferty[/name_m] but DH doesn’t and he says something shorter and more simple works better with [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m].
Surname is [name_m]Bingham[/name_m] btw. DH is pressurising me as wants to put in announcement to local newspaper this morning!
Thanks ange xx

I think you need a very common name with such an unusual name as the first. [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m] flows great! I wouldn’t worry about the meaning so much, it’s only a middle name. Plus the meaning isn’t bad or anything.

The only think that concerns me is the name [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m], I actually wouldn’t mind the name that much if it wasn’t the cartoon called the fairly odd parents. One of the main characters is named [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] and he’s portrayed as very dumb and silly, not a best name sake. But if you don’t live in [name_u]America[/name_u] it probably won’t be an issue.

[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Justin[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m] (gives him the initials “CJ” if he grows to not prefer [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m])
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]

[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Christian[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Justin[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m] (gives him the initials “CJ” if he grows to not prefer [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m])
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_u]Dallas[/name_u] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Davis[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about
[name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Jessup[/name_m] [name_m]Bingham[/name_m]?
It’s still a Biblical name, a variant of [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], but has a much more positive meaning than [name_u]James[/name_u]!

I wouldn’t worry about the meaning of [name_u]James[/name_u]. No one knows the meaning and no one will think of it in regards to the older son. I agree that it would be nice to have a good classic name like [name_u]James[/name_u] to compliment [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m]. I say [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]!

Thanks for all your help. I agree we are going to go for [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]. It goes well together, is unusual with classic mix, and can become CJ if he prefers. He can also be [name_m]Cosmo[/name_m] [name_m]Jim[/name_m], [name_m]Jimmy[/name_m], [name_m]Jimbo[/name_m] etc if he wants to!!
