Hi Berries! I’m expecting my third girl in June and I think my husband and I are settled on Jane. (Long backstory but the name was originally on our “can’t use” list but time has healed some wounds/associations). Jane is a name I’ve loved for decades so I’m excited it’s back in good graces!
We need a middle name! Jane will be joining her two older sisters:
Lucy Sue
Anna Jean (*Jean is super close to Jane but given how hard it has been to agree on a third girl’s name I’m ok with it!)
We have a pattern of using classic, vintage names with nickname-y middles. I’d love to use Elizabeth or a variant of for Jane (my own middle name). Do I break the pattern of my older two and use Jane Elizabeth? Or some other options are
Jane Eliza
Jane Beth
(Jane Elise was vetoed by my husband)
Thoughts? Or other middle names that would go? I’m finding with each baby the naming gets harder. Appreciate your thoughts, thanks!
I think you should stick with a more nickname-y middle. I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]! [name_u]Or[/name_u] what about [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Betty[/name_f]?
I say, break the pattern. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] (or Elise) is perfect and sounds great with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. [name_f]Sue[/name_f]. and Ann@ Je@n.
I don’t think I’d use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], because [name_f]Sue[/name_f] is so short, but [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is fine.
Another idea is [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f]. [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] (Isabel) and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] are related names and have the same meaning, pledged to God.
I really like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f]. I would also suggest [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Betty[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Betsy[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Bess[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Libba[/name_f], or [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Libby[/name_f] as other versions of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. I also like the sound of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is wonderful, I’d go with that! And if your husband has a change of heart, [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is also lovely. I like the suggestions of [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Betty[/name_f] / [name_f]Betsy[/name_f] too.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite is [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], though I also really like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
Oh [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is just perfect! Congratulations on finding “the one”! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you use their middle names at all? If you do, then maybe stay with the pattern? If you don’t use the middle names, then go with what has meaning and you love.
I love [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Beth[/name_f] is pretty cute.
Lets see all the other Nickname for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]:
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Libby[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_u]Izzy[/name_u]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Bette[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Etta[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] Lizet
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be perfect: classy with just a dash of spunk (in [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], that I don’t think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] quite has as much). It’s a lovely name, flows beautifully, has great significance and sounds lovely next to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. [name_u]Perfect[/name_u].
