a middle name for Opal...

Hello,

I’ve recently found out that I’m pregnant with our second child. We won’t be finding out the sex of the baby, but I’ve been thinking a LOT about [name]Opal[/name] if baby turns out to be a girl.

I don’t want to share my daughters name here, but I will tell you she has a very rare French first name (with greek roots) and a nature middle name.

I thought it would be nice to give [name]Opal[/name] (nature name) a bit of a longer, frilly Greek or French middle to tie in with my first daughter.

Here’s my initial thoughts… I’d love your suggestions.

[name]Opal[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] (really love this but does it just scream [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]?)
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] ( too gemstone heavy with the [name]Pearl[/name] reference?)
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] / [name]Delphinia[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Athena[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Mathilde[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Artemis[/name]

Thanks!

I like your ideas above, and I don’t think Opal Hermione screams Harry Potter or Marguerite is to gemstone heavy.

Here are some of my thoughts:
Opal Severine
Opal Athenais
Opal Chrisanthe
Opal Arianne
Opal Mazarine
Opal Alouette
Opal Amandine
Opal Anais
Opal Angelique
Opal Antoinette
Opal Berenice
Opal Capucine
Opal Eupheme
Opal Natalene
Opal Melisande
Opal Jacquetta
Opal Dominique
Opal Pomeline
Opal Sylvianne
Opal Veronique

really like this suggestion, thanks!

[name]Glad[/name] I could help!

@ lori johnson - both gorgeous suggestions. It’s a shame [name]Apolline[/name] sounds a bit repetitive with [name]Opal[/name] because I really love that name!

I just thought of another - [name]Agathe[/name]. Although I think [name]Agatha[/name] has much better flow with [name]Opal[/name].

My favourite of yours is [name]Opal[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name] but I admit I think of daisies before pearls with [name]Marguerite[/name].

Other options:
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Zephirine[/name] (or [name]Zephyrine[/name], but the two-i spelling is used for a variety of rose I like that was created in 1868, and also I am a bit y-phobic) - works well for an uncommon French name with Greek roots. Also I just love it.
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Ana[/name]ïs
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Alexandrine[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Margaux[/name] - an exception to my usual feelings on place names. [name]Margaux[/name] strikes me as a bit sassier than [name]Margot[/name]. My understanding is it also has a pretty good history of use as a name, unlike what the Nameberry blurb implies.
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Emmanuelle[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Amarante[/name] or [name]Opal[/name] [name]Amarantha[/name].
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Laetitia[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] Noémie
[name]Opal[/name] Félicie

[name]Opal[/name] is beautiful!! From your list, I really like [name]Opal[/name] [name]Hermione[/name] and [name]Opal[/name] [name]Delphine[/name].

[name]Opal[/name] [name]Ariadne[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Rowena[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Isolde[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Caterina[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] [name]Serenity[/name]
[name]Opal[/name] Xandria
