As soon as I read you wanted a mn for [name]Phineas[/name], even before looking down the list, I thought of [name]Jack[/name]. It’s so lovely. It grounds and balances lyrical [name]Phineas[/name]. [name]How[/name] long is your surname? [name]Jack[/name] is short enough to allow [name]Phineas[/name] to go well with most surnames I think, but if it’s a one syllable surname, perhaps it isn’t as good as some other choices.
I tend to think [name]Marshall[/name] may be a little too stylistically different from [name]Phineas[/name], though a great name, and that [name]Horatio[/name] (which I aso love) might be a bit too much.
I voted for [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]. [name]Phineas[/name] is a great name. I asked my husband what he thought was the best choice-- he likes [name]Phineas[/name] [name]David[/name]. I told him he better get his own nameberry account! [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] is fun and flows well.
@emilyc: I do have a one syllable surname, but [name]Jack[/name] is a family name and traditionally in the middle name spot and it actually works really well with the men in my family. I don’t think it would be a problem. We both love the idea of honoring family.
@lori johnson: I told my husband a few of your suggestions and we both agree that [name]Phineas[/name] Calivin, [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Rupert[/name], and [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Walter[/name] are wonderful. So it appears the list is growing instead of shrinking! Thank you, though.
@sylvia82: I’m glad to see [name]Hugo[/name] getting some love. I am fighting for it pretty hard over here, and I keep sneaking it into combinations. But my husband is doing a pretty good job of shutting it down! He says it’s “ok”, so it’s “allowed” on the list.
Along with [name]Jack[/name], [name]David[/name] and [name]Eldridge[/name] are also family names. I feel like my husband is leaning toward these combinations, and it seems you berries really like [name]David[/name]. We’re going to test drive [name]Phineas[/name] [name]David[/name] for a bit.
I love [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Hugo[/name] and [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Jack[/name]! They’re both fabulous. [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Jack[/name] got my vote, but in light of having a one-syllable surname, I could be persuaded to go for [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Hugo[/name]. Then again, I’m not one to be swayed by (slight) flow issues, so [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Jack[/name] ____ doesn’t really bother me.
I voted for [name]Phineas[/name] [name]Eldridge[/name], which I think has such a handsome, antique feel to it. [name]Phineas[/name] [name]David[/name] comes in at a close second.
It took my husband and I awhile before we named our son, when my husband said, what do you think about [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]? I didn’t care for the name. But… at the same time something inside me knew that was our sons name. It took me awhile to get used to, but now I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it! Together we chose [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] for his middle name. When we announced our son, [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], to family and friends, their reactions were very positive. It helped me, because at that time I still wasn’t sure about the name.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] has the best sound to me & I like the balance of the two names together. I also like that your use of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] would carry on that middle name of men in your family.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Eldridge[/name_m] would be my second choice. I like the combination!
[name_m]Horatio[/name_m] seems to me to be the most ill-suited pairing with [name_m]Phineas[/name_m].
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is at the very top of my boys name list. I like all of your middle name options but I voted for [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and was really torn between that and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Marshall[/name_m].
