A Name Came to Me in a Dream

Okay, this is probably a weird one. I was looking through the notes on my phone and rediscovered a name that I think I subconsciously made up in a dream - I couldn’t tell you what on [name_f]Earth[/name_f] this dream was about, just that there was a baby in it and her name was Amelaith (or perhaps Emelaith? Emmelaith?). It was pronounced Am-uh-LAYth.

It’s made up, as far as I know, but I remember writing it down because I actually do like it. It reminds me of [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] which I both like. I was wondering what everyone else thinks/preferred spelling/possible middles for it.

Thanks!

I think it’s beautiful! I definitely prefer the spelling Amelaith. It sounds a little medieval or fantasy-ish to me, but still humble and gentle. It’s very feminine and sweet.
For some reason my head went right to Arthurian legend with this name, and it made me think of the name Igraine.

It sounds like a genuine name to me, reminds me of some of the names I see on here. Medieval and strong.

I would write it like Ameleith or Amalaith. Very pretty! Reminds me of amulet, life and nature

I thought it sounded medieval, too! What a beautiful naming story it would be, seeing it in a dream.

Ameliath sounds so pretty it also gives me Knights of the round table mideval vibes. Something about the spelling also strikes me as Galeic or maybe Basque??

I really like this! Amelaith. Pretty  Made even more special by its coming to you in a dream! I agree with pps, it has a medieval ring to it

I think it’s really pretty. It’s like a combo of something like [name_f]Ameline[/name_f] / [name_f]Amelina[/name_f] & [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] (Forbflaith). Both of which are medieval / ancient names.
