I’m due in a couple of weeks and my partner & I can’t agree on a name for the baby… our son’s name is [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] which we both [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] and instantly knew was the name. We love the sound & meaning of [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] & that it’s easily pronounced but pretty uncommon where we live… from what we’ve heard there’s only one other [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] in the area and people are always complimenting the name.
We’ve had so much trouble thinking of a name for our second son and don’t have a lot of time left to choose. Initially we talked about [name_u]Paxton[/name_u]/[name_u]Pax[/name_u] (we liked the meaning) or [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] ([name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]’s nn is [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] [name_m]Bear[/name_m]) but neither feel right.
I really like the name [name_u]Ari[/name_u] (Pronounced “ah-ree”) however my partner associates it as only a Jewish name after watching that show entourage so won’t go for it. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions of a name [name_u]Ari[/name_u] could be used as a nickname for? I like that it has a similar cute sound to [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m]. I’m not a fan of the name [name_m]Archer[/name_m]. Thought of [name_m]Ares[/name_m] but not crazy on the meaning. [name_m]Aristotle[/name_m] is a bit much for my liking.
We want a name that’s not too difficult to pronounce & sounds familiar enough but isn’t very common, like [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m].
I like the sound of the name [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]/nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] but it’s too common for our liking. I think I’m liking the “ee” sound ending in either the actual name or a nickname. I also like the name [name_u]Haven[/name_u] but partner doesn’t.
Lately my partner likes the sound of [name_u]Logan[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] & [name_m]Ronin[/name_m] which I don’t like. [name_u]Phoenix[/name_u] is ok, I like the meaning but not that it’s so literal.
We like the name [name_u]Parker[/name_u] but it’s our cat’s name. Any help would be appreciated as were running short on time to decide!
Middle name will likely be either [name_m]Heath[/name_m] or [name_u]Hadley[/name_u].
I think [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] & [name_m]Aramis[/name_m] Heath “[name_u]Ari[/name_u]” would make an awesome sibset! [name_m]Aramis[/name_m] is one of the 3 musketeers so it’s a cool name association too.
I love [name_u]Ari[/name_u]! It’s my kitty’s name. Tell your husband that it means ‘lion’ in Hebrew. I think that makes it even cooler. My little guy is [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u]. [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is more often used for girls, but it can be male too. I used it for my cat since [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is the goddess of hunting and the moon. You know; cat stuff. If you’re not into [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] though, how about [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]? Bohdi are [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] are perfect!
I don’t think it’s an exclusively Jewish name and it can definitely be used as a stand-alone for people of all cultures. I also second earlier suggestions of [name_m]Aramis[/name_m] and [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], and the [name_u]Ari[/name_u] I know’s full name is the Russian Artyom.
[name_m]Arian[/name_m] Hudley nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u] I think is the best choice… Please don’t use [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is a name of an ancient greek god which is woman… I’ve been to Greece a million times and if they hear that you used [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] on a boy they won’t stoo laughing…
I second the suggestions of [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m].
Btw, [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] [name_m]Wolfe[/name_m] and [name_m]Bodhi[/name_m] [name_m]Bear[/name_m] would be cute!!
