This isn’t my first time on nameberry, I used to be just “deriva” here but since I changed email accounts and forgot my password I thought it was easier to make a new one. I have two daughters, [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] and last time I was here I was expecting a baby, who sadly we lost. So after a long time of healing from this very painful loss we decided to try again, which brings us back to nameberry. We are expecting a miracle little girl and we would like some help in naming her.
We want names that work in Spanish because we are from [name_f]Argentina[/name_f], they don’t have to necessarily be of Spanish origin, I know that [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f] are not for instance. Names beginning with “I” would be nice since middle name is more or less set to be [name_f]Milagros[/name_f].
Other ideas that I think go well with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Irene[/name_f]:
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Alba[/name_f]
[name_f]Alma[/name_f] (the meaning would be so nice with [name_f]Milagros[/name_f]!)
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Etta[/name_f] (too similar to ETA? Not sure how well known that group is in [name_f]Argentina[/name_f])
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Noemi[/name_f]
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Salma[/name_f]
[name_f]Silvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f] (the tay-ah pronunciation)
[name_f]Vera[/name_f] (another one whose meanings are great with [name_f]Milagros[/name_f]!)
I don’t know very much about [name_f]Argentina[/name_f] specifically, so apologies if I’m totally off with these.
I really like the suggestions of [name_f]Petra[/name_f], [name_f]Beatriz[/name_f], [name_f]Liliana[/name_f], [name_f]Flora[/name_f], [name_f]Silvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f]. I have a strong taste for names that belong in my mother and grandmother’s generation. I have seriously been thinking about [name_f]Olga[/name_f] which is a family name that I love and think is strong and full of personality, though it doesn’t have the most beautiful, flowing sound.
I love a previous poster’s suggestion of [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Milagros[/name_f]-such a lovely combination! Have you considered [name_f]Iulia[/name_f], a foreign spelling of [name_f]Julia[/name_f]? [name_f]Iulia[/name_f] [name_f]Milagros[/name_f] is pretty!
I love that you named your second daughter [name_f]Irene[/name_f], it’s one of my favourite names with a lovely meaning behind it!
We lost our little girl full term in [name_f]April[/name_f], but we named her [name_f]Isadora[/name_f]. It means gift from [name_f]Isis[/name_f], the Egyptian goddess of fertility.
