[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!
I am currently 16 weeks pregnant. Thanks to non-invasive prenatal testing we found out a few weeks ago that our little one is a girl! It has been a rough road emotionally due to a 14 week loss that came out of nowhere [name_f]April[/name_f] 28, 2017. We have been so blessed thus far this time with good health for myself and our girl, even though the pregnancy will continue to be high risk and highly monitored by maternal fetal medicine.
We also found out just before our loss that our angel baby was a girl. I am really struggling to find the right name, I think in great part because of the loss of a baby of the same gender. My husband is a lot more relaxed about this, but I have a couple reasons for being anxious about finding the right name. First, because the name will connect me to this pregnancy and this little girl more, where I have struggled to be connected (although overjoyed). Second, we have not told our families yet, but are planning to have a get together in a couple weeks, and I feel like having a name would make that time even more special, particularly where we have held out so long.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] story short, I have come to the best place I know for name suggestions, and thank you all in advance for your help! Some general naming trends that appeal to us: classic, yet familiar, easy to pronounce and spell, hopefully not too common, and cute nickname potential. We chose the name [name_f]Falene[/name_f] [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] ([name_f]Faye[/name_f]) for our angel baby, and names in my signature are a pretty good feel for what we like.
Thank you for sharing with us. I hope things go smoothly through [name_u]January[/name_u]!
It may be an obvious, not exciting choice, but my first thought was [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], which I was pleased to see in your signature. However, my favorite name in there is [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]! I love that meaning and the nickname [name_f]Mae[/name_f].
A name that isn’t in your signature that I would recommend is [name_f]Louisa[/name_f], nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] or [name_f]Lulu[/name_f].
Congrats and good luck! I have a soft spot for [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] from your list (I slightly prefer [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] spelling). It’s such a sweet name.
[name_f]Camille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] nn [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Emmy[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lettie[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] nn Liddy
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] nn [name_u]Romy[/name_u]
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] nn [name_f]Suki[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] from your signature is so sweet and I love [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] too! [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] is also lovely and I’d love [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
Some other suggestions
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f] or [name_f]Mila[/name_f])
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Addie[/name_f] or [name_u]Dell[/name_u])
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f])
[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] ([name_u]Izzy[/name_u], [name_u]Bell[/name_u])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Milly[/name_f], [name_f]Tilda[/name_f])
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] ([name_f]Tabby[/name_f], [name_f]Tibby[/name_f], [name_f]Tia[/name_f])
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
Your kind response has wowed me! [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is a name we hadn’t considered, and [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_f]Lulu[/name_f] is an awesomely adorable nickname. I appreciate the well wishes and luck, and I hope your summer/fall is fantastic!
Thank you so much for the thoughtful response and congrats! You gave us so many more names to consider, and so many nicknames that catch my attention. I particularly like [name_f]Camille[/name_f]/[name_f]Millie[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]/[name_f]Suki[/name_f]. [name_f]May[/name_f] your kindness come back to you in excess!
So many stunning suggestions, thank you so much! Also I didn’t know about [name_f]Iris[/name_f] meaning rainbow; this will certainly be a serious consideration for a middle name! [name_f]Camilla[/name_f] and [name_f]Camilia[/name_f] have caught my eye as well. Best of luck with your upcoming birth and settling in with your little guy!
Thank you for your thoughtful response and beautiful suggestions! I am particularly drawn to [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f]. All the best to you!
What do you think of [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] / [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]? The meaning “bringer of happiness” would be very appropriate, and [name_f]Bee[/name_f] would be the perfect nickname for [name_f]Faye[/name_f]'s little sister.
So many good wishes to you! Of course bonding is layered when you’re protecting your heart. Which is why I love the meaningful suggestions here. [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] are great!
I found a few too. One beautiful name I found on Mom Junction (which isn’t as well researched as Nameberry, so I would look further if interested) that means dawn and new beginnings was: [name_f]Senara[/name_f]. It’s not familiar where I live and doesn’t seem classic but apparently it is old and after a [name_m]Saint[/name_m]. More familiar is [name_f]Oriana[/name_f], which has the same meaning.
As for your list I absolutely love [name_f]Cadence[/name_f]! [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] before any of these meaning names amplifies them. A melody of peace, joy, strength. [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Irina[/name_f], [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Cadence[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f]. (!) Also really love [name_f]Doris[/name_f] (+ suggested [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]), [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u].
Last thought: Is there anyone in either of your families that embodies your wishes for your daughter? Maybe invoking that spirit by using some interpretation of their name will connect you to the choice.
When I saw the name [name_f]Faye[/name_f] I thought of the name [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. It’s a beautiful colour and just gives me the overwhelming feeling of peace, which I’m sure you need these next couple months! Congratulations!
I think that [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is a pretty version/alternative for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], nickname could be [name_f]Evie[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I love the [name_f]Iris[/name_f] idea for a middle name because it does mean [name_f]Rainbow[/name_f]. [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f] sounds really pretty.
Thank you for the thoughtful response, I enjoyed reading such a comprehensive list! I particularly like [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], especially the meaning. All the best to you!
Thank you for the response! I love the new suggestions based on my signature, [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is definitely towards the top of our list. All the best to you!
Thank you so much for the response, and the complements on [name_f]Falene[/name_f]! All the best with your upcoming arrival, your name choices are beautiful. Of course, I would be partial to [name_f]Faye[/name_f]!
