We are expecting our second, though we don’t know the sex yet. For boys, we’ve really warmed up to Boone, Arthur (Artie), Beckett, or Sid.
Where we’re struggling is a girl’s name. We already have a daughter named Billie, and we want the next name to sound good with hers, but not too matchy-matchy either. (For example, we really love Bonnie but worry that might be a bit too much together… you tell me! Haha) Our list is long, and we really need to whittle it down.
Which of the bellow sibsets is your favourite, which is your least favourite, and why?
(Also, feel free to suggest names we didn’t think of yet!!)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f] “CeCe” would be so cute! I like your boys list as well (except Boone). What about [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]?
Congrats [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_u]Murphy[/name_u], and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] are my favorites, They give off the same vibe as [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and would be so cute as a sibset!!
Billie and Joni is my favourite Both feisty, fun, retro, tomboyish nicknames with wonderful musical namesakes. Fabulous!
Sukey is also gorgeous and a real favourite of mine, although I prefer the Suki spelling. If you don’t like the “theme-iness” of Billie and Joni, this would be my pick.
My least favourites are Shelbie, Murphie and Beverly. They just don’t have the right vibe IMO. And I find the “Lee” ending options (Sallie, Polly, etc.) a bit too close in sound, as is Bonnie.
I really like [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Joni[/name_u] together too.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] but I’m not sure how it goes with [name_u]Billie[/name_u] really. I feel like you could get away with it if you had [name_u]Billie[/name_u], baby #2, baby #3 named [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] perhaps Maybe keep on your list for a possibility in the distant future
I really like [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_m]Boone[/name_m] or [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Artie[/name_u] for boys. You have some great options there!
I like [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Shelbie[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and Murphie, and [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f] the best from your list. I think any of those work well together. They feel like similar vibes but aren’t overly matchy.
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_u]Lennie[/name_u], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Selkie[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and winnie, [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], and [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Sallie[/name_f] all feel too similar to me. They have repetitive sounds and if you’re saying their names quickly I could definitely see it getting confusing.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], [name_m]Kitt[/name_m], [name_f]Minnie[/name_f], [name_f]Sallie[/name_f], & [name_f]Faye[/name_f] are all amazing with [name_u]Billie[/name_u].
Some of them seemed like a different style, or too feminine next to [name_u]Billie[/name_u] (making it unclear if they were sisters). But those I’m voting for were similar enough or had a similar enough vintage style to be flawless together.
Because you asked, here’s some more ideas:
[name_f]Gracie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] (Billie [name_f]Holliday[/name_f] & [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_m]Fitzgerald[/name_m]? Also makes me think of [name_f]Etta[/name_f], for [name_f]Etta[/name_f] James.)
Josephine/Jo/Josie/Posie
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Bess[/name_f]
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_u]Indie[/name_u]
[name_f]Lottie[/name_f]
[name_f]Goldie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f]
I do think that [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] is too much unfortunately with [name_u]Billie[/name_u] because it’s lovely and cute. Of your names I like:
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] (could also be [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Mina[/name_f] nn [name_f]Minnie[/name_f] for a slightly different sound)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & Lousia (nn [name_u]Lou[/name_u] would be cute!)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] (also could see Fia/Fiadh)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_u]Kit[/name_u] (prefer one t or Kitty)
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_u]Murphy[/name_u] (I prefer the y- ending and ie seems extra matchy and like it’s trying to hard to be femme when it’s already neutral)
I love [name_f]Selkie[/name_f] but it gives me VERY different vibes than your other names.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your boys list. And you have great girl options! The stand-outs to me are [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_m]Kitt[/name_m] or [name_u]Billie[/name_u] and [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
I love [name_m]Boone[/name_m] with [name_u]Billie[/name_u] - it gives me old west cowboy vibes
From your girls, I do like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] and don’t think it’s too matchy, though I would try yelling them or saying them together to see if you fumble the names too often. I also like [name_u]Lennie[/name_u], [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] and [name_m]Kitt[/name_m] with [name_u]Billie[/name_u].

Congratulations!!!
First of all [name_u]Billie[/name_u] is stunning !! I love the names [name_u]Arthur[/name_u] and [name_u]Sid[/name_u] with big sister [name_u]Billie[/name_u]!
It’s no doubt you are having a tough time for girls names all your contenders and gorgeous! If I had to pick a top three from your little lady names they would be :
[name_u]Joni[/name_u] - I love [name_u]Joni[/name_u] for you because it would give your girls that musical tie. [name_u]Billie[/name_u] [name_f]Holiday[/name_f] and [name_u]Joni[/name_u] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m] both influential female artists from very different backgrounds. The girls would also share i, ie endings so matchy without being too matchy. Both names are known but I would say unexpected
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - I am swooning over billie and Lou/ [name_u]Louie[/name_u] . It’s a little more feminine leaning but I also feel spunky. It feels different in style but complimentary
[name_f]Faye[/name_f] - this name is gorgeous in it’s simplicity and as a sister to [name_u]Billie[/name_u] . I think it’s underrated!!
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & Murphey – I LOVE the idea of this one, with two strong unisex, almost tomboy-esque names. [name_f]My[/name_f] only hesitation is the same ending sound.
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_m]Kitt[/name_m] - LOOOOOOVE this one. Again, both strong unisex names. They’re also both so spunky, and I love the different ending sounds.
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_f]Etta[/name_f] — I know your list said [name_f]Ettie[/name_f], but it immediately made me think of [name_f]Etta[/name_f], which I liked just a bit more dove they have different ending sounds. Only hesitation would be that [name_f]Etta[/name_f] may be slightly more feminine? However, they both share that doubly, unfussy feel, so I still think they work.
Other suggestions:
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_u]Carter[/name_u] – I always loved that there was a girl named [name_u]Carter[/name_u] in the movie “Bring It On,” and I love how these two names share that unisex, effortless kind of vibe.
[name_u]Billie[/name_u] & [name_u]Drew[/name_u] – Another cool unisex combo
