Thank you! [name_f]My[/name_f] wife and I love [name_u]Esme[/name_u]!
Thank you! While reading this list my wife had the name [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] pop into her head. I know it isn’t on your list but it was sparked by your list. [name_f]My[/name_f] wife really wants to name her this now. She feels like it is almost a flip of the name [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], and wants to go with an L middle name after someone pointed out ELKs represent the cycle of life and death. I’m a little hesitant because ELK was the set of initials we Initially wanted to use when we got pregnant with indie.
I love Inka!!! Its so cute and would honor [name_u]Indie[/name_u] very well. It also doesn’t sound too much like indigo which to be honest makes it better to me. I don’t want new baby to have a name that sounds like her sisters that seems like it could potentially hurt more.
After tonight I think we might be using the initials ELK
[name_u]Love[/name_u] nuka. Our boys were almost [name_u]Nico[/name_u] and [name_u]Luka[/name_u], and that feels like a way for all our kids to be involved in this baby’s name!
Thank you! This was very thoughtfully written and detailed!
Thank you! We hadn’t really considered two middle names before!
One of my own daughters is called [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] so I think it’s a perfect choice!
What about something like E. [name_f]Lapis[/name_f] or E. [name_u]Lazuli[/name_u]?
[name_f]Lapis[/name_f] [name_u]Lazuli[/name_u], or [name_f]Lapis[/name_f] for short, is a deep-blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color.
The only consideration to think of on [name_f]Lapis[/name_f] is its meaning in Portuguese… pencil.
Using ELK is a great idea!

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I can’t imagine what your family is going through.
It seems as if you really want to continue with your naming tradition but you are (understandably) just too overwhelmed and grieving to be able to make a decision. Since it was important to you before that the children’s initials all spelled a word, though, it seems especially important that this new baby’s name also follows the pattern…or the fact that it is different will always be a reminder of tragedy to you (and her.)
It’s probably difficult to find any name that you love that you didn’t also consider for [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], but that doesn’t mean that one of these names wasn’t a perfect name…it just wasn’t the perfect name for HER, but it may be the perfect name for the new little one! While I like [name_f]Eleanore[/name_f], it is fairly common now, so names like [name_u]Esme[/name_u] or [name_f]Ione[/name_f] seem to fit in much better with your other kids…
Here are some possibilities that could be mixed and matched. I hope you keep us posted as to what her name ends up being!

After sleeping on it for a few nights, we’ve decided not to call her [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]. We’re deciding between a few names right now. [name_f]Esta[/name_f] (means star) [name_f]Ena[/name_f] (little fire) and [name_f]Erma[/name_f] (whole, complete, or universal) with either the middle name of lilac or lavender
We would love an update on her name if you ever want to share! [name_f]Hope[/name_f] you and your family are still moving through the healing process the best you can and sending well wishes your way 🩷
