A new baby is coming *joy!*

My last name is [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]. We are [name_f]Katie[/name_f], [name_m]Matt[/name_m], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u], and dogs: [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] “[name_f]Tilly[/name_f]” and [name_f]Affinity[/name_f] “Finny.”

  1. I do not care for names that rhyme with any other members of the fam, and I am not fond of names with repeating first letters (aka [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] [name_m]Jackson[/name_m]).

  2. Meaning is very important to me; even if I adore the sound and feel of a name, I can’t use it if it means “grassy hill” or something.

I would love to have your input, either other suggestions or your thoughts about the names below. We are happily expecting a baby in [name_f]September[/name_f] this year!

[name_f]September[/name_f](because of the way it sounds and it’s my favourite time of the year; nn “[name_u]Ember[/name_u]”)
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (because of its many nn and because it means pearl)
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] (graceful in manner, rooted in strength)
[name_f]Jane[/name_f] (God is gracious)
[name_f]Arielle[/name_f] (lion of God) and
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] (because we have been given what we did not deserve)…

and
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] (rock… does this name still have a negative association to you?)
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] (defender… is this name too popular? I was a [name_f]Katie[/name_f] in a classroom of Katies :))
[name_m]Miles[/name_m] (gracious) and
[name_m]Darrow[/name_m] (means [name_u]Oak[/name_u], [name_u]Isa[/name_u]. 61:3… does this name sound too much like [name_u]Darrell[/name_u]).

I like [name_f]Willow[/name_f], [name_f]Arielle[/name_f] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]

My favorites are [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] & [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] & [name_m]Miles[/name_m]. I think these names share the vintage style without being too similar or repetitive in sound. If you dislike the alliteration of [name_f]Jane[/name_f], I think [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] is also lovely.

Thank you!
