Okay, I’ve posted a few posts on here about potential baby names for our second daughter due in [name]August[/name]. My DH is very opinionated and wants more than veto power, but would like to agree on the name. Problem is he doesn’t mind trendy names (top 10 names) as much as I do. We went back and forth on our first daughter’s name for a long time. It was not until he suggested the name [name]Sadie[/name], that he had long ago vetoed from my list, that we can to agreement and, sure enough, the same thing happened last night.
So last night, my three year old told me her sister’s name was [name]Abby[/name]. I asked her who told her that and she was the nanny, so I figured [name]Abigail[/name] was my nanny’s favorite name and called the nanny to ask her if [name]Abby[/name] was her favorite name that she was feeding to my daughter. She told me that [name]Scarlett[/name] was her favorite name. My husband overheard and chimes in, I like [name]Scarlett[/name]! Now, mind you, [name]Scarlett[/name] was circulated by me for our first daughter and it’s sitting on my short list of names on the refridgerator, hoping it would seep into my DH’s subconscious. So like [name]Sadie[/name], I said I like [name]Scarlett[/name], you said you didn’t. But I quickly accepted his change of heart and proclaimed our next daughter [name]Scarlett[/name].
What do you think, [name]Sadie[/name] and [name]Scarlett[/name]? I know they are different…[name]Sadie[/name] being a vintage nickname and [name]Scarlett[/name], being definitely not a nickname. I’m really not trying to adopt an “S” theme to my kids names, since I don’t really like themes, but I wouldn’t have a problem naming my third kid a non-S name.
I envision [name]Scarlett[/name] going by [name]Scarlett[/name] mostly, but if we wanted a nickname, what do you suggest? I like [name]Carly[/name], and not sure, about Scarly? Scarly-gnarly?
Not too concerned about the scar- beginning since [name]Sadie[/name] does start with sad (though not pronounced sad), but I also madden and madison start with mad- and I haven’t seen any particularly mad propensity of teasing of [name]Madden[/name], [name]Maddox[/name], [name]Madison[/name] for this.
What do you think? [name]Do[/name] they go? Good nn?
