So I work in a field where I’m in constant contact with customers, indirectly in a way, and I came across a new name today. Brooksie. Now I hate [name_u]Brooke[/name_u], and coincidentally [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] and any of the variations, but Brooksie just appeals to me for some reason. Its too nicknamey feeling to me to use as a first name though, so how could I get to it, without the obvious undesired options?
Secondly, I just had to add in that I was thrilled when I came across a [name_f]Pandora[/name_f] yesterday in real life. Makes it seem all the more usable.
Not a fan. I love nicknames as names, but this does sound like “baby talk.” I would stick with [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] or [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]. Brooksley seems just as made up to me, and unappealing.
I like Brooksie as a nickname perhaps for [name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u] or [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] or something more creative? After all, as a parent you get to nickname her whatever you like or whatever fits.
Brookley could be a way to get to Brooksie besides going [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]/[name_u]Brooklyn[/name_u]. I personally also like [name_u]Brook[/name_u], but I’m a sucker for nature names haha.
Haha, well I do! This is a new account, it used to be rhiatayler. Anyways, thanks for the suggestion of Brookley, I’m not sure I’m feeling it though. I don’t know, maybe its the people I associate [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] with, but I just can’t get behind it. And brooksie doesn’t seem to have a fan club. Lol.
Well, I haven’t seriously considered it, just talking with the lady who had this name, it seemed it suited her and it peaked my curiosity. I’m not a nickname-name kind of person, which most people who know me on here probably know, but Brooksie seemed interesting. I’m pretty set on my daughter’s name, which will definitely not be Brooksie, but I do love names, and new ones especially excite me. Today I talked with a lovely woman named [name_f]Stormy[/name_f], which I’ve always thought to cutesy for a grown woman, but she wore it quite well. Also, I do realize that Brooksie is very cutesy, but as a nickname even outside the home, who really cares? I’ve always loved [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nn [name_u]Bliss[/name_u] which I can’t use for a variety of reasons, but not all nicknames that are sickly sweet, or cutesy, or odd and unheard of have to be limited to in home uwe.
