my DD & I met an enchanting & precocious little lady on the swings the other day. When I asked her her name, she said “I don’t want to tell you”. (ha! preschoolers are so funny).
Later I was chatting with her Mom, and she said she was called… Vrinda? Or possibly Vilinda? Varinda? She had such a trill in her “R” I couldn’t tell… It sounded like a phone ringing sound. It reminded me of [name]Glinda[/name] the Good Witch, as the mom & daughter were almost fairy-like and so full of quirk in a fantastic way.
Berries… what is this name??? I’m assuming it’s not made up. She didn’t look like the type to give her daughter a made-up name. I don’t really know how to explain that so hopefully you know what I mean. I am so fascinated, as its incredibly rare to hear a name that I’ve never even heard of. Anyone have history to share about this name?
Well I just googled Vrinda for the heck of it and apparently it is an [name]Indian[/name] name… not much info on it though, so who knows if that’s true!
I saw that too… and was equally dissatisfied with the amount of info on the name. I was thinking possibly she was trying to honor a [name]Linda[/name] in the family & altered it?
Totally off topic but @lexikj I love the names in your signature. My daughter is [name]Vivienne[/name], was almost named [name]Ruby[/name] but our friends got to it first, and [name]Ophelia[/name] is on our list for the next one
Vrinda [name]Rai[/name] is the name of [name]Aishwarya[/name] [name]Rai[/name]'s (famous [name]Indian[/name] actress/known as one of the most beautiful women in the world) mother. From what I can finds Vrinda means everything from a cluster of flowers to virtuous and strong. Here is an interesting related legend: Tulasi Vivaha - Wikipedia
