[name_m]Hi[/name_m] lovelies! I thought I’d ask a few questions I have in one thread rather than making a few. I hope that’s ok!
Question one - [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is going to date badly? I’ve seen a few comments saying this due to how popular it is. It is very popular however I’ve never met one. I also know the Game of Thrones association doesn’t help, I just never linked the two as the character is [name_u]Arya[/name_u]. I do see why they are however as most of the characters pronounce the name like [name_f]Aria[/name_f] (yes, it was pet peeve of mine during the run of the show haha)
Question two (three & four haha) - What do you think of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and how do you pronounce it? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think a nickname like [name_u]Chi[/name_u] or [name_f]Cece[/name_f] would help people get the intended pronunciation?
Question three (or five) - Which is your favourite middle name for these two first name options? [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] will be a second middle name (I’ve included it so the flow of the names can be considered overall)
- [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Posy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
- [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Posy[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
Thank you x
I don’t think aria will date badly, however, I don’t particularly like the name itself. If anything, the [name_u]Arya[/name_u] connection would make it endure.
I pronounce [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] like loo-sha. I’m not a huge fan, and I don’t think chi or [name_f]Cece[/name_f] will help people pronounce it correctly (I’m assuming you’re going for loo-see-uh) because generally people will learn the nickname after the name.
I love most of your [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] options (all but [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]) , but went with [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] maple [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]! It feels so fresh and sweet, with springlike [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] and autumnal maple! I chose [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] primrose- I just like the imagery.

I think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] might be recognizable to the first bit of the 21st century, but it probably won’t date as badly as names that we think of as dated because names are simply more diverse now.
I like the look of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. [name_f]My[/name_f] automatic internal pronunciation is Loo-chee-ah, but my preference is for Loo-see-ah, and I can also see Loo-shah. I think a nickname might help, but you will intevitably have to correct people.
My favorites are [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].

Hi there.
- I don’t know that it will date badly necessarily. It sounds nicely on an adult or child. But I do find it very trendy. The fact that it’s popular because of two TV shows kind of makes it less special to me. I’ve never personally met one, but I hear it a lot. Called out on the playground, babies & young kids of acquaintances, etc.
2/3/4-[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is so pretty. It’s smart, elegant & a little spunky. I say it Loo-see-uh. I think that pronunciation could become a headache either way. But the idea of the nn [name_f]Cece[/name_f] is fun. I like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] best.
3/5-I voted [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] for both. It’s honestly not my personal favorite, but it’s kind of cool as a mn. And just flowed the best.
Hope this helps.

I Think it’s trendy, because of the ending, but I don’t think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] will date - [name_u]Arya[/name_u] yes, because of GoT, but [name_f]Aria[/name_f] no because it’s been around for a while as a musical term.
I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], and pronounce it Loo-see-a. Those nickname are good options and definitely make it obvious how to pronounce it, to me.
I chose [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], but I really don’t think you can go wrong with any - I love all the combos for [name_f]Eloise[/name_f].

I definitely think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is going to be very dated to the first couple decades of the 21st century, it’s very trendy right now and has exploded in popularity and I assume it will come down similarly. I don’t think that’s necessarily a reason to avoid it, though.
I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], I like both pronunciations for different reasons: [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with the ch sound feels romantic and Italian, while [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] with an s sound more readily provides the cute nickname of [name_f]Lucie[/name_f]/Lucy. I think most Americans will default to an S sound, but that’s not a reason to not use the ch sound if you prefer it.
I really love [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] so I picked it for both first name options. I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] better as a FN but [name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] really has delightful flow.
