A Rose by any other name?

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], Rosamund…:tulip:

[name_f][/name_f]

Which one and why? What middle are you choosing?

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is probably my favourite (it’s my cousins name) I think it’s so perfect! It’s warm, timeless, and quietly strong. It doesn’t feel try-hard or trendy, and it ages beautifully from baby to adult. [name_f]My[/name_f] cousins name is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Jade[/name_f] which I think is so pretty! [name_m]Other[/name_m] middle names I like with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] are: [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_f]June[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and [name_f]Claire[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I also really like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] but I’d personally always think of the Hunger [name_m]Games[/name_m]. I’d be so happy to meet a little girl called [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] tho!

[name_f][/name_f]

I had an amazing teacher once called [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and I really like the sound of it and options of both Rosie/Rose and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I personally don’t really like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemund[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- idk why I think I’m just not a fan of the ‘nd’ ending, but of course if I met someone with this name I’m sure I’d think it fits well.

I’d say [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] is my favorite today! It feels really warm and colorful (I don’t have synesthesia but I do associate colors with some names, and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] feels like a warm pink – like the color of girl hyperlinks – and a slight teal-ish green, which go really well together) :two_hearts:[name_f][/name_f] It also reminds me of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_m]Wells[/name_m], the author of the [name_m]Max[/name_m] & [name_f]Ruby[/name_f] children’s books, which I had a lot of as a child – so fond childhood memories!

[name_f][/name_f]

I like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] too, though it’s a bit newer to me as a name! [name_f]My[/name_f] first association is also Hunger [name_m]Games[/name_m] but it’s not an overwhelming association. I’ve been liking [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] lately because it’s so fun to make combos with!

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] I’m not as sure about (the -und ending) but it still feels very warm and strong – motherly somehow? [name_m]The[/name_m] [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]- part reminds me of another childhood book (A Chair for [name_f]My[/name_f] Mother)[name_f][/name_f] I like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] a bit more because of the connection to [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] [name_m]Franklin[/name_m]!

[name_f][/name_f]

I’d pair [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] as… [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] :strawberry::herb:

I’ve had a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name in my top 5 or so since the beginning of my list! It’s generally flip flopped between [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] with a [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f] phase thrown in at one point. I like pretty much all the [name_f]Rose[/name_f] names but some of the others that currently feature on my long list are [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemarie[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f].
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] [name_f]Marina[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] are my current [name_f]Rose[/name_f] combos.

I’d be picking [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] from those. I’d pair it as [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Lowenna[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I very much like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] and [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

Of these three specifically, my favourite is [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]. I’m a huge fan of -mund names and her horsey meaning is sweet and cozy. She’s probably not usable for me solely because my favourite boy name is also a -mund ending, but if I ended up having all girls someday, my youngest would likely be [name_f]Django[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f].

My favourite [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name doesn’t technically have a rosy meaning (but then, neither does [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]!) but she has the sound - [name_f]Rosmerta[/name_f]. I’m a big mythology person, and of the more ‘niche’ goddesses, she’s one of my favourites. My usual combo for her is [name_f]Rosmerta[/name_f] [name_f]Laureline[/name_f], with nickname [name_f]Myrtle[/name_f].

All that said, I would probably never use a [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name in the first spot as I’m not a fan of nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] She’s sweet, just not for me!!

Ooh, tough! I think today, the strength of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is appealing to me [name_f][/name_f]- literary, substantial, and elegant, frilly but not cutesy, and lends itself to multiple nicknames: [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], [name_f]Roz[/name_f], [name_f]Romy[/name_f], [name_m]Ronnie[/name_m], [name_f]Sunny[/name_f], [name_f]Ro[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

I like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Opal[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Lark[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

On another day, sweet, floral and frilly [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] would get my vote [name_f][/name_f] so like the opposite vibes :person_shrugging:

I’m a sucker for [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and her many variants :rose:

[name_f][/name_f]

I’ve gone through many phases with [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and currently I’m crushing on [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as a middle name with the whole combination being [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. I think for me I would [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in a heartbeat if I didn’t have soooo many friends who have children with names that consist of something [name_f]Rose[/name_f] like Peyt0n-Rose, Will0w-Rose, Ari@-Rose, Carl@-Rose, Evi3-Rose, Isl@-Rose it’s just everywhere so for me it really feels overused. I think my [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would just blend into all the Rose’s.

[name_f][/name_f]

I have crushed over [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Rosanna[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] all of these are magical however currently my favourite is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is gorgeous she’s warm, cosy, has lovely imagery attached, feels vintage and whimsy. I also love the nicknames [name_f]Romy[/name_f] + [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] both so sweet. On my list I have [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Autumn[/name_f]!

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is my favorite of the three. I love how it’s lilting and energetic but warm and mature at the same time. And nickname [name_f]Romy[/name_f] just melts my heart.

[name_f][/name_f]

Middles: Something short and sweet, maybe [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Tess[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] is also really nice. I like the strength of [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], that rare d ending on a girl, and how it also lends itself to [name_f]Romy[/name_f]. [name_m]The[/name_m] one downside for me is that the name means “horse protection” which just isn’t as pretty to me.

[name_f][/name_f]

Middles: Soft to lighten the combo up. Maybe [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Elise[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] always makes me think prim and proper and I think that’s held me back. I also think of the Hunger [name_m]Games[/name_m] character, though she is a lovely character and I wouldn’t mind my child being associated with her. I do see the appeal of the wildflower and the uniqueness, but this one isn’t for me.

[name_f][/name_f]

Middles: I think I’d go a little less traditional. Maybe [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_m]Emerson[/name_m], [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], or [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. Although [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is also lovely.

I would probably go with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Alice[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]! I love how cozy it feels, and how a [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] could truly be anyone.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name might just be [name_f]Rosa[/name_f], though!

I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (the name of my grandmother’s best friend) and [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I also love [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Frances[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Pascale[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Elinor[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Jacinta[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] [name_f]Marisol[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] [name_f]Mercedes[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] [name_f]Montserrat[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] [name_f]Susana[/name_f]

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], love the vibes

Probably [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], she’s so grand and historic! [name_f][/name_f] I’ve been smitten with [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] for a while; maybe her or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] [name_f]Capulet[/name_f]. [name_f][/name_f] I’ve loved the other two for years. [name_f][/name_f] I like the added option of my beloved [name_f]Romy[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] feels more usable than [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], but I find [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] easier to pair up, for some reason. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]? [name_f][/name_f] I would probably do something more classic as a middle for [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and have been crushing on her lately, but I like [name_f]Posy[/name_f] for [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] over Rose/Rosie. [name_f][/name_f] I think with [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] I would maybe do something like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Leonie[/name_f], maybe?

My favourite is [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]! It feels very sweet and warm, and it’s familiar without being too popular. I would probably choose something like [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Alma[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], with the nickname [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] or [name_f]Romy[/name_f].

1st off, I love all 3 names & any of them would be a darling edition to your kiddos [name_f][/name_f] They all have slightly different energy.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] feels a bit more regal, but in a soft [name_f]Secret[/name_f] [name_m]Garden[/name_m][name_f][/name_f] sort of way if that makes sense. [name_f]She[/name_f] reminds me of stone [name_f]English[/name_f] houses covered in ivy with manicured gardens surrounded by white picket fences.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] has a comforting, natural feel to her.. like homemade cherry pie sitting on a window sill, kitchens filled with herbs from the garden, & a home decorated with flowers.

[name_f][/name_f]

[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] feels like a name you’d find in a old-fashioned fairy tale. She’s pretty & sweet. [name_m]Her[/name_m] name brings to mind walks through flower gardens, little gated cottages tucked away in the woods, & fragrant, vining roses.
