A Sibling for Hudson...

So, we’re trying to choose a name for [name]Baby[/name] #2… Our son’s name is [name]Hudson[/name]. We chose it because it was fairly uncommon (at least at the time) & we always visit a little yearly festival in [name]Hudson[/name], Ohio.

If this baby is a boy, our short list consists of: [name]Sawyer[/name], [name]Whitaker[/name] & [name]Truman[/name]. We both love all of those.
However, we’re completely stumped for girl’s names that we can agree upon. Before [name]Hudson[/name] was born, our girl’s choice was [name]Everly[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (nn [name]Evie[/name])… Now we’re not sure we’re sold on [name]Everly[/name] (but both still love [name]Evie[/name] as a nn).

*I like: [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Flynn[/name], [name]Gracelyn[/name] & [name]Sullivan[/name]. (Hub vetoed all of them. He says [name]Sullivan[/name] is okay for a boy though.)
*The hub likes: [name]Taylor[/name]. (I vetoed it.)
*We both like: [name]Ada[/name] & [name]Kate[/name] (buuut, they sound very rhyme-y with our last name.) and [name]Adeline[/name]…but “[name]Addie[/name]” seems to be taking over locally.
*We also love the nn’s [name]Liv[/name], [name]Hattie[/name] (too close to [name]Hudson[/name]'s nn Huddy?) & [name]Evie[/name] (but we don’t feel like they’ll work as “full” names.)

We’re looking for something a little off-beat & not trendy or something that sounds as though it was “made up.”
The middle name will still most likely be [name]Grace[/name].
Any help you can offer will be sincerely appreciated!
Thanks in advance!!!

[name]Ellery[/name] [name]Grace[/name] was the first name that popped into my head! I think it has a very happy sound to it! Other suggestions that would work are: [name]Connolly[/name], [name]Hadley[/name], [name]Hollis[/name], [name]Chauncey[/name], [name]Laurel[/name], [name]Lowry[/name], [name]Romilly[/name], [name]Flannery[/name], [name]Delaney[/name], [name]Romney[/name], [name]Briony[/name], [name]Marlowe[/name], [name]Calloway[/name], [name]Journey[/name], [name]Temple[/name], [name]Bronte[/name], [name]Brice[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name]. Good luck!

Let’s see, given the nicknames you like, I would suggest:

[name]Hattie[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]

[name]Liv[/name]
[name]Olivia[/name]
[name]Olive[/name]
[name]Livia[/name]
[name]Livana[/name]

[name]Evie[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Evangeline[/name]
[name]Eveline[/name]/[name]Evelina[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Eve[/name]
[name]Evette[/name]/[name]Yvette[/name]

I second [name]Yvette[/name] (nicknamed [name]Evie[/name])! I’ve always loved the sound of this name and wasn’t able to use it on my daughter as my husband had some negative personal associations. :frowning: It’s feminine but strong, and [name]Evie[/name] is a great nickname.

I also like [name]Yvette[/name] and I only know one and she’s in her thirties. Beautiful name and unusual without being weird and too “out there”.
