Please don’t tell me if you don’t like my naming style simply because that’s not helpful. I understand that we all have different tastes, and I respect that. I like old fashioned names that are sweet, short, and spunky. I prefer names not in the top 200, though I realize that [name_f]Sadie[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] have risen there since I used them. No names in the top 100. One syllable or two works best with the sibset though I’d consider three. I’d like each name to start with a different letter. Right now all my girls names (first and middle) amount to four syllables, and I’d like to keep that too.
Top Contenders right now just for first name are:
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (DH’s favorite)
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lula[/name_f] or [name_u]Lou[/name_u]) (not going to use [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] though I know a lot of people prefer it)
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] (though DH doesn’t like it, I love it) nn [name_f]Tillie[/name_f] or [name_f]Millie[/name_f]
Any thoughts or new suggestions? And I realize that [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] (and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]) are kind of matchy.
I love your girls’ names! However I don’t think any of your contenders really match the sweet style you have. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would fit bug I think it s too close to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] about:
I love [name_f]Louise[/name_f] with your girls, I thought of it based off the title before even reading it is an option! Especially with [name_f]Lulu[/name_f] or [name_f]Lu[/name_f] nickname so [name_f]Clara[/name_f] isn’t the odd-girl out with the ie endings. I like [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] but she doesn’t quite fit in with the others - maybe a little too strong or harsh sounding. Would you consider [name_f]Tilda[/name_f]? Other ideas:
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Nina[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Olive[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] from your list. [name_f]My[/name_f] other thoughts:
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Stella[/name_f]
I think [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] would be fine, it is a little matchy but I think than what you have with the sibset is already matchy anyway so I don’t think it will make a difference really. [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is my favorite of your choices, [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] is definitely the one that is distinctive in sound but matches in style. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is sort of in between the two in sound. Really can’t go wrong with any of those three.
PP’s idea of [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is great! Also thought of:
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]/[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Beryl[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought before even reading your post was [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], but I do agree with other posters that it might be a little too close to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. I love the name [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] but it just doesn’t seem to fit with your other names to me for some reason. Same with [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is my favorite from your contenders list, but I wouldn’t say it’s the best you could do. I was going to suggest [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], and [name_f]Violet[/name_f] (among the other below), but I see they’ve already been taken haha! I for one really love your naming style.
I would suggest:
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_u]Ruby[/name_u]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lottie[/name_f])
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Aggy[/name_f] seems like an adorable addition to your girls)
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_u]Josie[/name_u] (or longer variant [name_f]Josephine[/name_f])
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Trudy[/name_f]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] (or longer variant [name_f]Penelope[/name_f])
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Mae[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
Your girls have absolutely beautiful names! And I love your list too.
Some other ideas for you (sorry for any repeats):
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Milly[/name_f] ([name_f]Millicent[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Greta[/name_f]
[name_f]Beth[/name_f]
[name_f]Maggie[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Martha[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_u]Penny[/name_u]
[name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]My[/name_f] pick from your list is [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]! It’s gorgeous and I think sets the sibset off nicely due to being consistent with the sweet, vintage style you have and also single syllable (like [name_f]Rose[/name_f]) and non “ee” ending (like [name_f]Clara[/name_f]). If I were to make other suggestions, I’d use those guidelines too.
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f] ([name_f]Rosie[/name_f]), [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] and
Thanks for so many helpful responses. I think [name_u]June[/name_u] is being added to the final list. I like that we could call her [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Junie[/name_f] or Junebug. Dh likes it too. He would say the list right now is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], and [name_u]June[/name_u]. He’s not buying into [name_f]Louise[/name_f] or [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]. But we still have plenty of time. It took him three kids to come around to [name_f]Elsie[/name_f]. And it could shockingly also actually be a boy this time around.
I love your style!
Girls names are:
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] sometimes)
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f] ([name_f]Pearlie[/name_f]) is probably my favourite, though I do love [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_u]Mattie[/name_u]). Oh, it is so hard to choose.
Here are some other suggestions:
[name_f]Celie[/name_f]
[name_f]Ama[/name_f]
Alsa/[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] ([name_f]Alsie[/name_f]/[name_f]Elsie[/name_f])
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]
[name_u]Auden[/name_u] ([name_u]Audie[/name_u])
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f] ([name_f]Aggie[/name_f])
[name_f]Hattie[/name_f]
[name_f]Hetty[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f] ([name_f]Edie[/name_f])
[name_f]Olive[/name_f] ([name_u]Ollie[/name_u])
Good luck! I’m sure that whatever you pick will be beautiful.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favorite names to go with [name_f]Sadie[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] are [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Here are some combinations that I think that you might like with them from your naming style:
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] (Only if you don’t use [name_f]Louise[/name_f] ever)
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] [name_f]Eva[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] ([name_f]My[/name_f] favorite combo)
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
