[name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I are expecting boy/girl twins (insert freaking out face) and I’m hoping to get some awesome help!
I have loved the name [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] for as long as I can remember, I also liked it because I thought is sounded nice with [name_f]Linda[/name_f] (the middle name we have chosen to honor my mother who will unfortunately not be able to meet our children). The only problem with us using it is that it is the name of my husband’s ex-fiance, so we both don’t really want to have that connection for our daughter. However, I can’t find anything else that I love! Can you think of anything that may have a similar feel to it? We can’t use [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] since my name is [name_f]Cora[/name_f]! We don’t have a boy name picked out so I can’t give much help with that, but we do have a son named Sébastien if that helps!
Similar feeling (which to me is classic and elegant):
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] (if you like this as a way to tie in [name_f]Linda[/name_f] to the first name…? I thought it was pretty, and so Shakespearean…)
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] or [name_f]Celestine[/name_f]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] to [name_f]Celestine[/name_f] isn’t super close on sound but somehow related in feel for me.
I like [name_f]Emeline[/name_f]! Super pretty! [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] has always been a guilty pleasure of mine because I’ve been so worried about how popular “[name_f]Maddie[/name_f]” names are lately! I’d rather keep [name_f]Linda[/name_f] exclusive to the middle name, since I want to use the full name of it to honor my mom
I also forgot to say in the original post, but we have talked about using another [name_m]French[/name_m] name but we are not exclusive to doing so!
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is super pretty! I always thought [name_f]Evie[/name_f] would be a cute nickname if one were used! [name_f]My[/name_f] only concern with it would be the pronunciation differences with our English and [name_m]French[/name_m] relatives
Too bad…[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is a favorite of mine and I love your name too! [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Addie[/name_f]) or [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u])? I think those could work in English and [name_m]French[/name_m].
I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Emeline[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (but would the [name_m]Cor[/name_m]- be too close to my name?), [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]! I’ve always though [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] was gorgeous but I don’t know if I’m brave enough to use it!
I really like [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f]. I discovered it here on nameberry but I find it darling. I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! And [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is a cute nn.
I’m just worried it may be TOO different. I also don’t know how well my husband will like it (but he hasn’t been much help in the naming process anyway)
