A Sister for Co, Georgia & Nash

We are expecting #4 any day and have yet to pin down the perfect name. Gender of this baby is unknown and this time around we just don’t feel as certain or excited about our list of potential names. Our boys, Co and [name_m]Nash[/name_m], have family names and our daughter [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]‘s namesake was inspired by O’[name_m]Keeffe[/name_m]. We tend to be drawn to vintage names with a country feel.

Our top contenders right now are:

[name_f]Willa[/name_f]- our youngest son would’ve been given this name had he been a girl. Currently feeling discouraged about using it because we know of several baby boys recently born who are named [name_m]Will[/name_m]. Plus, it is so difficult to pair with a beautiful yet unexpected nature-y middle name- [name_f]Sister[/name_f] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f]'s middle name is Bloom.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]- has been on our list since my second pregnancy but I kind of forgot about it and recently revisited it. I know others find it frilly and over the top, but all I hear is sweet and spunky. I love the Native American association and meaning. In respects to our sibset I think it compliments the unusual name of our son, Co, while staying true to the vintage/ country feel of [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_m]Nash[/name_m].

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f]- long time favorite but it’s popularity makes me a tad bit hesitant to use it, even though I have yet to meet a little [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] myself! Husband likes the nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] but I prefer it in it’s fullness.

[name_f]Florence[/name_f]- this is the newest name on our list. I should say my list because hubby isn’t completely sold on it. It’s the name of the woman in the famous photograph “Migrant Mother” take by [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f] Lange, a piece of art that has always spoken to me and also encapsulates so much of our family’s history. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is also a possibility.

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f]- simple and sweet and on both our family trees. The rampant use as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for a middle name has put on rain cloud over the name for me. But I love it so much as a first name! We really also like Rosebud.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]- this is what our kids would like to name their baby sister (it’s the name of the new baby on the show “[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_m]Tiger[/name_m]'s Neighborhood”). It was my great- grandmother’s name and was considered when naming each of our kids. Like [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], it’s popularity is a little concerning but it is so classic!

So what would you use berries? [name_m]Feel[/name_m] free to suggest middle names if you’d like!

These are all really great!
My favorites are [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].
I think there are some options for middle naturey names with [name_f]Willa[/name_f]: [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]Bay[/name_u], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Maple[/name_f], etc. Or if [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is too close to ‘[name_m]Will[/name_m]’ for you, what about [name_f]Calla[/name_f]?
I love [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u].
What about [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is your only and best choice with the sibset! It’s a gorgeous underused name. [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is too popular, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a bit too stodgy with the sibset, [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is super sweet but I’d go with a longer form like [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], and [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is too much if you hang out with [name_m]Wills[/name_m]. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is sweet but a bit rhymey with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].

My favourite is [name_f]Florence[/name_f]. [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] sound really great together (and I like the idea of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] Rosebud :D). Second choice would be [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. I’m excited because I rarely see a sibset where [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] would fit. Here I think it’s the strongest contender!

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] start with the same sound (but your boys’ names don’t) so that makes it kind of weird. [name_f]Willa[/name_f] is, frankly, boring and homely compared to your other kids’ names, plus there are too many [name_m]Wills[/name_m]. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is nice but then it would be over the top to use a nature name for the MN. [name_f]Florence[/name_f] & [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] don’t fit the theme, neither are vintage country [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I think of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] Nightingale the nurse, the city of [name_f]Florence[/name_f] [name_f]Italy[/name_f], & [name_f]Flo[/name_f]-[name_u]Jo[/name_u] the Olympic athlete. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is actually my second favorite on your list but it would be the popular name by far, compared to your other kids’ names.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is fun & spunky like [name_f]Georgia[/name_f], equally vibrant, and it’s got its own individuality; it also fits the country vintage theme and sounds great with all your kids’ names together. It isn’t too popular AND it never will be because, like I said, most sibsets cannot fit [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] into the mix because it’s so unusual.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Rosebud
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Swan
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Peach[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Petal[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Song
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Fawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f]

I really love the stories and meaning behind each name.

My favorite option by far is [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. It has frill, but a very charming and rustic kind of frill to me. Country frill! I think [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] & Talluluah are excellent together. Definitely spunky.

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] isn’t my cup of tea, but after reading the association you make with the photograph and how much it means to you, I can appreciate it much more as an option. I like the [name_f]Flora[/name_f] idea even more, but perhaps as a middle b/c as pp pointed out, [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] & [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is a little sing-songy. I would recommend [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Flora[/name_f] but it just doesn’t roll off the tongue right…or does it? I’m in between on that one.

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is nice, but pales in comparison to [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] and [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] seems a little simple and abrupt but I do like Rosebud especially as a possible middle and especially with your other nature mn Bloom.

All things considered, I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]: [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Rosebud

Also, a pp suggested [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f]. [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] would be nice but again, it relegates [name_f]Rose[/name_f] to the very expected middle spot.

Awesome suggestions @privacyplease

[name_u]Love[/name_u]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Rosebud
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] Swan
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Peach[/name_f]

Ugh! All of you are tugging at my heart strings with your suggestions!

miche- Thank you! [name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] was a long time love of mine but my husband isn’t a fan. I much prefer [name_f]Willa[/name_f] to [name_f]Calla[/name_f]. Sometimes I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] has been in my brain so long that any middle names I pair with it just sounds like I’m phrasing a question, " [name_m]Will[/name_m] a ____?".

schickler- [name_f]Glad[/name_f] you share my enthusiasm for [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]! I’m truly not as concerned with the sibset as I am the actual name but of course if it fits both beautifully that’s ideal. We actually don’t hang around any [name_m]Wills[/name_m] but are aware of two acquaintances whose little ones were given the name in the past year. Is that grounds to toss it? Part of me wants to just go for it regardless because we just love it!

c@29- [name_f]Florence[/name_f] Rosebud, swoon!

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] to me fits in greatly with your kids names! [name_m]Even[/name_m] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. Although I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] on its own.

[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] I think is getting really popular, but it also goes nicely with your kids names. [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is cute. I also like [name_f]Posey[/name_f]

[name_f]Florence[/name_f] has been growing on me. Also works well with your kids names. [name_f]Flora[/name_f] is my sister in laws name and I love it! I can’t decided if it works with your kids names for some reason…

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is my favorite out of your choices! [name_u]Love[/name_u] how it sounds with your kids!

[name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is a sweet choice. It would fit in well. I do like rosebud as a spunky mn choice, same as your daughters mn Bloom.

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] seems stuffy compared to your other kids names. My least favorite out of your choices.

Middle name suggestions… Any repeats is because I second the recommendation!
[name_f]Plum[/name_f]- my favorite! Would love to see a little [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Plum[/name_f]!
[name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_u]Clove[/name_u]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_f]Lavender[/name_f]
[name_f]Lilac[/name_f]
[name_f]Moon[/name_f]
[name_f]Emerald[/name_f]
[name_f]Coral[/name_f]
[name_u]Dove[/name_u]
[name_f]Fawn[/name_f]
[name_f]Opal[/name_f]

privacyplease, tiannarose and shannagrace- so thrilled to see the love for [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]!

Definitely [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]! Such a pretty but spunky name. Sounds great with your sibset. What more could you want! LOL

I love all your names! My fav’s: [name_f]Willa[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] _________.

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] is perfect with your sib set! It’s one of my favorites! [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be my second picks.

You know best! If you love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and just can’t let it go (as it sounds) go for it. It is one of my faves too and I’d love to see it used more. We couldn’t use it because in our area [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is getting popular. I do still stand by [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] though. Use it! Use it! It was also on our list. I think we have very similar taste.

I’m not gonna lie, [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is the front runner at the moment! [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, I love [name_f]Willa[/name_f] and I know it’s my husband’s favorite but all things considered [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] just has more going for it in my opinion.

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]! They are both gorgeous!

Awesome sib names—

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] called [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is great.
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] Rosebud is a good fit.
[name_u]Josie[/name_u] totally goes.

PS - [name_f]Thea[/name_f] Rosebud is lovely here too (was just looking at mention of [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f])…

[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Florence[/name_f] are my favorites! They both make the set complete and compliment the other names. Great names!

notcinnamon- I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but we know one already. Thank you for the beautiful suggestions!

micke156 and halfkoreangirl- yay! I think so too!

Now my brain is thinking of a perfect middle for a potential Miss [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]
