a sister for Eliana

[name]Hi[/name] All,
I would be very curious to know what names might go well with big sister [name]Eliana[/name]. [name]Just[/name] off the top of your head, I’m interested to hear a few names you think would be similar in style. Thanks!

I love [name]Eliana[/name]. I think you need something equally lush and romantic. Here are some thoughts off the top of my head:

[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Juliana[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name]
[name]Coraline[/name]
[name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]
[name]Graciela[/name]
[name]Adeline[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Luciana[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name]
[name]Valentina[/name]

Thanks for your suggestions. I was interested to hear opinions before I stated my own idea of what might go along side. I love [name]Eliana[/name] too, but I think others might view it a bit more frilly than I (we pronounce it [name]Elly[/name]-[name]Anna[/name]). Her nn is [name]Ellie[/name]. From your list, I like [name]Clara[/name] the best because it is perhaps the least frilly?

[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Felicity[/name]
[name]Delilah[/name]

[name]Just[/name] a few, that are in a different category I suppose from the previous post.

You’re right. I was pronouncing it “[name]Ellie[/name]-On-uh.” Okay, something less frilly. Let’s see. [name]How[/name] about:

[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]June[/name]
[name]Josephine[/name] ([name]Josey[/name] and [name]Ellie[/name] is cute)
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Penny[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Allie[/name]?)
[name]Alicia[/name]
[name]Jane[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Janie[/name])
[name]Margaret[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name]/[name]Maggie[/name]/[name]Greta[/name])
[name]Sarah[/name] ([name]Ellie[/name] and [name]Sadie[/name])
[name]Celia[/name]
[name]Marina[/name]
[name]Maria[/name]
[name]Ruth[/name]

Am I getting closer?

I’m in your exact position. (There is a thread somewhere on here where I pose the same question). We pronounce her name [name]Ellie[/name]-[name]AH[/name]-nuh, but call her [name]Ellie[/name] pretty much all the time. What is your daughter’s middle name?

I’m looking for something less frilly too and the berry consensus was that [name]Briony[/name] would be a great match. It’s feminine, but a bit stronger and less frilly. Sadly, we can’t use it because it’s too close to my father-in-law’s name and we’re not doing namesakes.

The others that were suggested multiple times as a good match (and that I liked too) were [name]Lydia[/name], [name]Phoebe[/name], [name]Eden[/name], [name]Felicity[/name], [name]Florence[/name], [name]Imogen[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], & [name]Clementine[/name].

We don’t know whether we’re having a girl or a boy, so we’re still kind of undecided.
