A Sister for Eloise

[name]Daisy[/name]
[name]Holly[/name]
[name]Gracie[/name]

It is between these 3, we are really stuck! What would you go for and why?

Thanks, [name]Sarah[/name]

I’d give [name]Gracie[/name] a veto. [name]Grace[/name] and [name]Gracie[/name] are incredibly popular now, and I feel like [name]Gracie[/name] is a bit too cutesy by herself. [name]Grace[/name] “[name]Gracie[/name]” I think is a better option.

I personally love [name]Daisy[/name], and I’m not crazy about [name]Holly[/name]. Despite my liking for [name]Daisy[/name], I think [name]Holly[/name] would age a bit better and sounds great with [name]Eloise[/name]. So I vote for [name]Holly[/name], though I would not be disappointed with [name]Daisy[/name] =]

I don’t really think any of these sound particularly good with [name]Eloise[/name]… [name]Daisy[/name] is very cute, but [name]WAY[/name] too much of a nickname for when she’s an adult. I think [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Marguerite[/name] nn [name]Daisy[/name] would be absolutely perfect with [name]Eloise[/name]!

[name]Holly[/name] sounds very dated, not like the vintage [name]Eloise[/name]. I like it, but it just doesn’t fit. What about another nature name, like [name]Violet[/name], [name]Jessamine[/name], [name]Lily[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], or [name]Magnolia[/name]?

[name]Gracie[/name] is also cute, but too much of a nickname. I like [name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Gracie[/name], but it is very popular.

[name]Matilda[/name] (nn [name]Tillie[/name])
[name]Vivienne[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Helena[/name] (nn [name]Leni[/name], [name]Laney[/name])
[name]Olivia[/name] (nn [name]Livvy[/name], [name]Libby[/name])
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name] (nn [name]Millie[/name])
[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Penelope[/name]
[name]Bridget[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] (nn [name]Sukie[/name], [name]Annie[/name])
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Miranda[/name] (nn [name]Mimi[/name])

[name]Eloise[/name] is such a lovely name. [name]May[/name] I ask what her mn is?

[name]Daisy[/name]- This is too nick namey imo and a little informal for the sophisticted [name]Eloise[/name]. Have you considered other flower names? [name]Iris[/name], [name]Dahlia[/name], [name]Rose/name, [name]Magnolia[/name], or [name]Violet[/name] would all be lovely.

[name]Holly[/name]- This name seems very 80’s to me. I think it is nice but I’m not sure how well it goes with the vintage [name]Eloise[/name].

[name]Gracie[/name]- [name]Grace[/name] “[name]Gracie[/name]” would be fine with [name]Eloise[/name]. [name]Gracie[/name] on its own is way to cutesy. [name]Grace[/name] will age much better. I cant imagine a gown women named just [name]Gracie[/name].

If I had to pick from this list I woud go with [name]Holly[/name]. Only because I think it ages the best.

If you are still looking for suggestions. Here are some names I like [name]Eloise[/name]:
[name]Camille[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Isabel[/name]
[name]Annabel[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Julia[/name]
[name]Clara[/name]/[name]Claire[/name]
[name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Charlotte[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Margo[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Sophie[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]

[name]Hi[/name], [name]Sarah[/name]!

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Eloise[/name]! However, I don’t really like [name]Gracie[/name], [name]Holly[/name], or [name]Daisy[/name] with her… The previously suggested [name]Marguerite[/name] “[name]Daisy[/name]” goes well, though!

What about [name]Sylvie[/name]? She seems to fit your criteria… Cute, yet sophisticated, ends the same as the others on your list, French like [name]Eloise[/name]… [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Marguerite[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Margaret[/name], [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Grace[/name] (though it’s a common mn), or [name]Sylvie[/name] [name]Hollis[/name]?

Good luck!

[name]Eloise[/name] is such a lovely name!!! <3

I think [name]Claire[/name] would be a great match with it.

Other possibilities:

> [name]Cordelia[/name]
> [name]Adele[/name]
> [name]Amabel[/name]
> [name]Henrietta[/name]

Good luck and congrats!

I would go with [name]Daisy[/name] or [name]Holly[/name].

love the suggestions of [name]Marguerite[/name] nn [name]Daisy[/name]
and [name]Grace[/name] nn [name]Gracie[/name]

[name]Eloise[/name] & [name]Marguerite[/name] make a lovely sibset…

I’m having a hard time picturing any of your choices with [name]Eloise[/name]. I did see that someone else mentioned [name]Hollis[/name], which I like better than [name]Holly[/name] and I think it fits better as well.

I think [name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Margarita[/name] NN [name]Daisy[/name] is really cute!

(-:

[name]Daisy[/name]

Good luck!

I like [name]Eloise[/name] much better than these three options. However, if I had to pick, I’d say [name]Holly[/name] goes best with [name]Eloise[/name].

[name]Daisy[/name] feels way to cutesy to me, as does [name]Gracie[/name].

[name]Eloise[/name] and [name]Grace[/name] would be lovely. I dislike [name]Gracie[/name] as it changes the whole feel of the name. I love the meaning of [name]Grace[/name] also.

I think the vintage, elegant and beautiful [name]Eloise[/name] would love a sister with a name that has the same distinction as hers and [name]Grace[/name] fits the bill beautifully.

[name]Love[/name] the [name]Marguerite[/name]/[name]Margaret[/name] “[name]Daisy[/name]” suggestion, but I honestly think that [name]Alice[/name] is the perfect compliment to [name]Eloise[/name]! Or maybe [name]Charlotte[/name]…

[name]Lemon[/name]

  1. daisy
  2. gracie
  3. holly

[name]Daisy[/name] is gorgeous with [name]Eloise[/name], it’s perfect all on its own.

Of your three options, I like [name]Daisy[/name] the best as it matches [name]Eloise[/name]'s vintage feel (although it is more nickname-y, I find them both playful).

[name]Holly[/name] is lovely. It does lack the kind of Englishy feel of [name]Eloise[/name], but I don’t think that matters too much in the long run. It isn’t a nickname – it’s a proper name – and when the baby is in her sixties it will still sound fine.

I would only use [name]Daisy[/name] if you’re going to make it short for [name]Margaret[/name] or [name]Deborah[/name] or something of that ilk. It seems to me more of a nickname than a given.
