A sister for Eve and Daphne

I have two girls - [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] - and am expecting a third girl in a few months. We’re really struggling on the name front this time around, since it seems like every name I like has some big issue (such as being very popular, having been recently used by a family member, my husband does not like it, etc.). I just keep looking at the same names over and over and nothing seems perfect. Please help me!!
My ideal name would have all these traits, if possible:

  • a name that is familiar to most people. Our last name (a [name_m]French[/name_m] name that begins with C) is hard to pronounce, so I don’t want a first name that is also confusing and unfamiliar to people.

  • a name that is not very common. I have a very common name from my era and would prefer that my kids not be one of several kids with the same name in their classes.

  • I am not opposed to names that lend themselves easily to nicknames, as long as I like both the nickname and the full name a lot. I don’t want to use a long name with the plan that she will never be called by the nickname version or vice versa.

  • A name that fits with the style of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I love both those names so much and am trying to find a third I love just as much. I wasn’t sure if [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] was too unusual at the time but now completely love it and it really suits my daughter. I think a name ending in -a would be a nice variety with my other two, but am really not committed to that at all. I’d also prefer that the name not start with an E or D, but that’s not a deal breaker.

([name_m]Just[/name_m] to give you a feel for what I’ve liked and have considered, here are a few names that I like but that are not going to work for various reasons are: [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] (husband does not like it at all), [name_f]Nola[/name_f] (too unfamiliar to people, too often confused with [name_f]Nora[/name_f], also people seem to associate it very closely with [name_m]New[/name_m] Orleans), [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (borderline too popular, especially with all the other [name_f]El[/name_f]- names, also recently used by a very close friend), [name_f]Vera[/name_f] (husband hates this one), [name_f]Lola[/name_f] (seems too casual for a full name to me, though I know many people disagree on that - I considered [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] called [name_f]Lola[/name_f] but worried that seems like a stretch)…)

I would love some fresh ideas of other names that seem to fit. THANK YOU so much for your help on this!!! xo

I love your daughters names. Here are some that I think go well with them:

[name_f]Lula[/name_f]
[name_f]Celene[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarai[/name_f]
[name_f]Clea[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalind[/name_f]
[name_u]Fallon[/name_u]
[name_f]Luna[/name_f]
Wrenna
[name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]

[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Theona[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]

Hmm, well-known but uncommon names in the vein of [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Nora[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], [name_f]Lola[/name_f]…

[name_f]Paloma[/name_f] “[name_f]Lola[/name_f]”

[name_f]Thea[/name_f]

[name_f]Flora[/name_f]/[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Ines[/name_f]
[name_f]Ismay[/name_f]

Such beautiful names! I don’t find [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lola[/name_f] to be too far a stretch at all, personally.

My apologises got any repeats:
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]

[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Miranda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mira[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] (maybe too much with [name_f]Eve[/name_f])

[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Zelda[/name_f]
[name_f]Zara[/name_f]
Cassandra
Beatrice
Cressida

I love [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Cora[/name_f] would be great, as it is sort of Greek/vintage and familiar but not extremely popular. Also second the suggestions of [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f].

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (but similar to popular [name_f]Ava[/name_f])
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f] (I like this too if it works with your last name)
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Ingrid[/name_f]
[name_f]Irene[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f]
[name_f]Marcella[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]
[name_f]Tess[/name_f]
[name_f]Thea[/name_f]

I love the style!

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and…

[name_f]Ivy[/name_f] (too close to [name_f]Eve[/name_f]?)
[name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Delilah[/name_f] (too close to [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]?)
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]
[name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] (too close to [name_f]Eve[/name_f]?)
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_f]Willa[/name_f]

My top two choices are [name_f]Iris[/name_f] and [name_f]Flora[/name_f]. Or maybe [name_f]Willa[/name_f].

What a beautiful sibset! The first name that comes to my mind is [name_f]Helena[/name_f]. It works well with your girls, stylewise. Pronounciation might be a bit tricky (Hel-eena vs Hel-ayna) but if you go with the first [name_f]Lena[/name_f] is an easy nickname that also works.

Some other ideas (excuse any repeats):

[name_f]Rhea[/name_f]
[name_f]Ione[/name_f]/[name_f]Iona[/name_f]

[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Renata[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

[name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (or [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Estella[/name_f]), [name_f]Thora[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Frida[/name_f], [name_f]Maura[/name_f], [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]. Good luck.

I love the suggestion of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f]!

Thank you for all these wonderful suggestions!! I’m really liking [name_f]Iris[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], and maybe [name_u]Eloise[/name_u] with the nickname [name_f]Lola[/name_f], as well as many of the others. If you have more suggestions, please keep them coming!

[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]

I immediately thought [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]

What about [name_f]April[/name_f]? It’s #402 so pretty in line with your kids popularity.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] are lovely.

My favourite suggestions are:

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Cecily[/name_f]

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_u]June[/name_u]

I adore [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f].

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Arwen[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Joy[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Juno[/name_f]

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and [name_f]Margot[/name_f]!

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names! I like [name_f]Nola[/name_f] best from your list-- the others just don’t seem to be in the same classic, elegant vein as [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Lois[/name_f] as a way to get to [name_f]Lola[/name_f]?

Some possibilities:

[name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], and

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Astrid[/name_f]
