Hello. DD is 3, and is [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
We are pregnant again, due early [name_f]September[/name_f], and stuck on a girl name!!
Some top ones we are throwing around are: [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
If we used [name_f]Naomi[/name_f], is that too closely related to [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]? (theres only one letter difference between the two)
Also, the biggest driving force for [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is that I like the nickname “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]”. Is it too far of a stretch? What other names could have a nickname of “[name_f]Callie[/name_f]”?
DH doesnt like [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], and Im not sure I like [name_f]Callista[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] but I’m not sure I like them with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]! [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] & [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] would be lovely but I’m not keen on [name_f]Julia[/name_f].
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] & [name_f]Callia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Calla[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and Calianne (not sure on spelling, but this is probably real name)
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Callie[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is too similar to [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. Between [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f], I would choose [name_f]Camille[/name_f]. I like
I 2nd [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Julia[/name_f] with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I do think [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is a bit close to [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] seems different to me.
Lots of great suggestions already, but a few more: [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Gwyneth[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f], [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Zara[/name_f]…
I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] together - they make the perfect sibset!
I also like [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] but I don’t like tham so much with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]!
What about [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] with the nickname [name_f]Callie[/name_f]? [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] sound nice together.
If you want the nn of [name_f]Callie[/name_f] why not name your daughter [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]/[name_f]Carolyn[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] are perfect together.
I don’t think [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is a stretch from [name_f]Camille[/name_f] at all. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] could also be short for Calpurnia. The Evolution of Calpurnia [name_u]Tate[/name_u] won the [name_m]Newbery[/name_m] award a few years ago, and it made me reassess the name Calpurnia. I think it’s quite lovely now [name_f]Callie[/name_f] is also short for [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], which is more of a stretch than [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
This is a wild card, but [name_u]Mirin[/name_u] has Scottish roots like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. There aren’t too many Scottish girls’ names that translate nicely into the U.S. [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], and [name_u]Adair[/name_u] are three others. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] [name_u]Adair[/name_u]? Then the two girls’ names are linked. Like I said, wild cards!
I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f]! [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] are really pretty and great together! I do think [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] is too close. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is pretty, but lacks [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]'s enthusiasm. [name_f]Camille[/name_f] nn [name_f]Callie[/name_f] works just fine. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] can also be a full name. I know a [name_f]Kaleigh[/name_f] (she’s about 22) and she rocks her name (it’s pronounced the same way as [name_f]Callie[/name_f]). Any name that starts with [name_u]Cal[/name_u] / [name_m]Kal[/name_m] works with nn [name_f]Callie[/name_f]. [name_f]Caleigh[/name_f] is also a legitimate name. [name_f]My[/name_f] aunt’s niece’s name is [name_f]Callie[/name_f] and it totally suits her.
I love all of the [name_u]Julie[/name_u] names, so I’m gonna vote for [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] are the perfect sibet!
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] & [name_f]Julia[/name_f] sound very lovely together. I think the name [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is beautiful so that’s the other one I would go with. [name_f]Callie[/name_f] works as a nn [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. It’s not as obvious as [name_f]Cami[/name_f] or [name_f]Milly[/name_f] but I don’t think you’ll get any weird looks when you say “[name_f]Callie[/name_f] is short for [name_f]Camille[/name_f]”. The only intuitively “callie” name that I am drawn to is [name_f]Calantha[/name_f]. Otherwise I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Calla[/name_f], though not sure you’d be calling a [name_f]Calla[/name_f] [name_f]Callie[/name_f].
Hmm…
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a lovely choice!
I love [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] with all three of your choices as well my only flaw with [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is that [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] & [name_f]Julia[/name_f] with the strong ‘a’ ending feel slightly rhymey. However [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] sound fresh very elegant and [name_f]Camille[/name_f] & [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] work nicely together. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite of the two is [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] it’s just pretty and seems to stylistically work better with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Callie[/name_f] works as a nickname for many cal names however saying this the automatic nickname that I think of for [name_f]Camille[/name_f] is [name_f]Cammy[/name_f].
I appreciate all of the feedback…you have certainly given me things to think about!
Im second guessing [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]. I love the name itself, and if this were my first child it would be absolutely my #1 choice. Im just not sold on it working with [name_f]Fiona[/name_f]…
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]/[name_f]Callie[/name_f] is still a runner. I really like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], too…but hubs dated a [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], so thats out. NO idea on what I’d pair as a MN with [name_f]Camille[/name_f], though. Ideas??
As for [name_f]Julia[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]…[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] just really isnt my style. A bit to popularized for me, I think.
Standalone, I also like [name_f]Ivy[/name_f] for a name, but hubs likes it as a middle name, and I think I might only like it as a first name.
