Hello -
I’m kind of freaking out just a little. I am scheduled for a c-section next [name_f]Tuesday[/name_f], [name_u]January[/name_u] 5th, and both my husband and I just haven’t found THE name yet. Nothing feels 100% right like it did when we chose [name_m]Jack[/name_m] for our son / firstborn.
Our last name is [name_m]Lucas[/name_m], and I definitely want something that flows with our last name as well as complementing her big brother’s name, [name_m]Jack[/name_m].
Also, we’d like to use the middle name “[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]” as it is both our maternal grandmother’s name. I’m not opposed to throwing this out if it makes the first/middle/last name flow better, to be honest, but then again, we’ve already told our family our intentions to use it, and I’m worried it would upset them if we ended up changing our minds because “it just didn’t flow…”
Here are some names that have been at the top of our list -
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - love how this works with [name_m]Jack[/name_m], but does it work for a nice Jewish girl? Has always been one of my favorite names in general.
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f] - we both love the nickname [name_f]Addy[/name_f], but I’m not sure this works with [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] as a middle name. Also, I’m not keen that it could be pronounced “adda-lynn” as I would pronounce it “adda-line.”
[name_u]Delaney[/name_u] - my personal favorite, but not my husband’s (though he isn’t strongly opposed); I think it sounds great with our last name, but needs a different middle name than [name_f]Sarah[/name_f]. I love the nickname options that can be used too ([name_u]Lane[/name_u], [name_u]Laney[/name_u], [name_f]Lana[/name_f], etc.). Thinking I’d use [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_f]Mae[/name_f] as a middle name.
[name_f]Paige[/name_f] - my husband’s first cousin’s daughter is named [name_f]Paige[/name_f], and her brother is [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] - so a little too matchy to what our family would be named but then again, we rarely see them, and the kids are about 10 -12 years older than ours. [name_f]Do[/name_f] we care and avoid this one?
I don’t want something that is extremely popular, to be honest. I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] how [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_m]Lucas[/name_m] sounds, for example, but I won’t name her that given its extreme popularity right now. [name_u]Harper[/name_u] is another favorite, but I feel it has also become too popular for my liking. So, anything in the top 20-25 is probably out.
Other names that I like but are most likely out for a variety of reasons are: Josephine, Tess, Sydney, Scarlett, Natalie, Bridget, Madeline, Emerson, Margaret, Serena, Daphne, Elyse, Teagan. All over the board, I know.
Sorry for the lengthy explanation - I’d love your thoughts on my list in addition to any other names you think would work for us!!! Open to all suggestions - we need a name!!
Thanks in advance!!
