A sister for Lia?

[name_f]My[/name_f] coworker and friend has asked me for suggestions for her baby number two, and I’m only so happy to oblige. She has an [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] [name_u]Jaden[/name_u] (changed minorly for privacy reasons, but very, very similar sound) who is turning 3 in a couple days. She goes by [name_f]Lia[/name_f]. [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] (my coworker) says she loves that [name_f]Lia[/name_f]'s full name is not used a lot at all, but that her nn, [name_f]Lia[/name_f], is familiar. It sounds like she’d like the same for baby number 2. She’s said in the past that she likes unisex names (hence [name_f]Lia[/name_f]‘s MN), and I asked her if that’s a priority this time around, if she wants another girly FN and a unisex MN, and she’s not too particular about that. She’s just worried about finding a name she and her boyfriend can actually agree on. So far, her boyfriend wants [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_f]Rica[/name_f] ([name_f]Rika[/name_f]? Pronounced [name_f]REE[/name_f]-kah) for a girl, or [name_u]Nico[/name_u] for a boy. She likes [name_f]Aria[/name_f] okay, but one of our managers is welcoming his second daughter (to be [name_u]Arya[/name_u]) in just a couple of days, and we assume he’ll be quite territorial. She’s not really commented on that many girls’ names.

Any ideas for her? I have a few ideas (I think [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] nn [name_f]Annie[/name_f] or [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] nn [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] would be adorable with her daughter), but I figured you’d all come up with some creative ideas I’ve missed, and I can give her a good-sized list in a few days.

I have no idea what surname we’re working with as of right now. Her surname is Ke.rn, but I have no clue if she’ll use her surname, or her boyfriend’s.

Suggest away, Berries!

[name_f]Rosella[/name_f] nicknamed [name_f]Ella[/name_f]?
Amélie pronounced a-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-lee nicknamed [name_f]May[/name_f]?

Personally, I love Amélie (although ah-[name_f]MAY[/name_f]-lee isn’t the proper [name_m]French[/name_m] pronunciation), but I wonder if [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] and Amélie are too similar? I think it has some nice nn potential she might like, though–[name_f]Millie[/name_f], [name_f]Lily[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f], [name_f]Amy[/name_f], etc. I like [name_f]Mia[/name_f], too, but with [name_f]Lia[/name_f] I feel it might be too matchy. [name_f]Rosella[/name_f] is intriguing. I can see her liking it, and [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] are both really cute. I am also thinking of suggesting [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Estella[/name_f]/[name_f]Stella[/name_f]. I can sort of see her liking [name_f]Stella[/name_f].

Here’s a list of names I think would work really well with [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] ([name_f]Lia[/name_f]):

[name_f]Arabella[/name_f] ([name_f]Belle[/name_f] or [name_f]Bella[/name_f])
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f] ([name_f]Cece[/name_f])
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f]/[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f] ([name_f]Cora[/name_f])
[name_f]Demetria[/name_f] ([name_f]Demi[/name_f])
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Emmy[/name_f])
[name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] ([name_f]Etta[/name_f])
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] ([name_u]Josie[/name_u])
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f]/[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] ([name_f]Lily[/name_f])
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_f]Tillie[/name_f])
[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] (Taby)
[name_f]Aida[/name_f]
[name_f]Bianca[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] (Tixie)
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] ([name_f]Ana[/name_f])
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] ([name_f]Gen[/name_f])
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f] (Isy)
[name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] ([name_f]Livy[/name_f])
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]/[name_f]Mildred[/name_f] ([name_f]Millie[/name_f])
[name_f]Viveca[/name_f] ([name_f]Viv[/name_f])
[name_f]Viviana[/name_f] ([name_f]Viv[/name_f] or [name_f]Ana[/name_f])
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f] ([name_f]Winnie[/name_f])

[name_f]My[/name_f] favorites are [name_f]Coralie[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Isadora[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f].

And here are some middle that could work:

[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_u]Riley[/name_u]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Reese[/name_u]
[name_u]Micah[/name_u]
[name_u]Jesse[/name_u]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about “[name_f]Jamesina[/name_f]”? [name_u]Love[/name_u] that name! And if you’re looking for eclectic middle names, put a feminine spin on some old classics. [name_m]How[/name_m] about “Sylvestra” or the beautiful “Garlene”"?
xoxoxo,
[name_f]Jamesina[/name_f] Sylvestra Garlene:eek:

Thanks, @emily_rose! I particularly like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], although I’m not sure about [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]? Still, I think [name_f]Bella[/name_f]/[name_f]Ella[/name_f]/[name_u]Ari[/name_u], etc., would all be adorable! I’m not sure if she wants something as popular as [name_f]Bella[/name_f] for a nn, but I can ask her.

[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] are lovely, too.

[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] (or one of its variants: [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Isobel[/name_f], [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f], blah) would go lovely with [name_f]Adalia[/name_f]. [name_f]Belle[/name_f] and [name_f]Lia[/name_f] are cute.

I like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Riley[/name_u] (or [name_u]Rylee[/name_u]/[name_u]Rylie[/name_u], to keep with the unisex MN) or [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Ariana[/name_f] (close to [name_f]Aria[/name_f]).

I hesitate to suggest [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] (or any of its variants), as it’s my top choice for a girl! I’m obviously much further from having a child than she is, and [name_f]Adalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] are gorgeous together, but I sort of want to keep [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] to myself. :frowning: I once mentioned to her that [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] was my top choice for a girl, and I remember she said it was cute, but I’m hoping to avoid mentioning [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], in hopes that she’ll skip over it. [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Riley[/name_u] (or something like [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_u]Avery[/name_u], etc.) are all adorable, but for now, I think I’ll keep [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] to myself. I might mention it if she gets really desperate. I might mention a few other [name_f]Bel[/name_f] names, like [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] (or even [name_f]Annabella[/name_f]), [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], etc., though!

Any last suggestions before I send my list off to her? I told her I’d have her a list by [name_f]Sunday[/name_f] (when we’ll presumably work together; we usually do), but if this thread is pretty much dead, I don’t want to beat a dead horse. I’ll probably look a bit on my own, too, but I’m hoping some Berries will have some ideas that I wouldn’t have had.
