A Sister For Lucy and Shepherd

Hello, friends!

I’ve been utterly uninspired by names recently, and I’d love to cultivate a list that sparks some joy, because names are one of my favorite hobbies.

Right now, the girl names I know I love are: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f], [name_f]Ada[/name_f], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f].

[name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Claramae[/name_f], [name_f]Glory[/name_f], [name_f]Mercy[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], and [name_f]Eden[/name_f] are also still on my mind, but truly none but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] are feeling perfect and lovely at the moment.

Conversely, after much turmoil, I’m mostly happy with my boy name list, which includes: [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_f]Haven[/name_f], [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_f]Sage[/name_f], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], [name_m]Rowan[/name_m], [name_m]River[/name_m], [name_m]Silas[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Abel[/name_m], [name_m]Jonah[/name_m], [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m], [name_m]Asa[/name_m], [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f], [name_m]Drummer[/name_m], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], and [name_m]Lennox[/name_m].

Taking into account all of these names, but especially [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], what first names would you add to my girl list? If you have any reasoning for your suggestions, I’d love to hear it, but of course that’s not necessary!

Thank you all so much.

Ahhh your names are gorgeous!

A sister for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] + Shepherd…

[name_f]Christabel[/name_f] ~ so I know she has featured on your list as a middle name for [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] I believe but I am going to champion [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] upfront. [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] is a lovely sparkly name that feels Christmassy and joyous. She’s pretty, ever so romantic and I think feels like such a cohesive sibling for [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] + [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]. [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] has the length of [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] but the melodic sound of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Also [name_f]Christabel[/name_f] has [name_m]Christian[/name_m] references like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] + [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] along with providing an unexpected flair.

[name_f]Trinity[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Trinity[/name_f] feels like a name that should be on your radar but I am unsure if you have spoken about her. She’s a virtue word name with a Puritan vibe. Has the sweet vintage nickname of Trinny and has strong [name_m]Christian[/name_m] references. I like [name_f]Trinity[/name_f] with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] + [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] I feel she provides balance as she’s in keeping with the whole word name concept along with having that Y ending like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] + [name_f]Trinity[/name_f] sound lovely together.

[name_f]Constance[/name_f] ~ I am unsure if [name_f]Constance[/name_f] has been on your radar but again I think she’s beautiful and deserves a place on your list. [name_f]Constance[/name_f] is elegant, timeless, unexpected and radiates strength. I love the nickname [name_f]Connie[/name_f] and how unexpected she feels. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] + [name_f]Constance[/name_f] work wonderfully together.

[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] ~ again I am unsure if [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] has been on your radar but I feel that she’s lovely and very much your vibe. [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] feels earthy, bewitching, warm and has a cosy autumnal vibe. She’s biblical so is in keeping with a lot of your names and I like the nickname [name_f]Tabby[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] + [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] is such a delightful I live on a postcard celebrating autumn sibling set and I’m here for it.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] these four provide some inspiration!

[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] → You’ve surely considered this before, but I think it has the same storybook quality as [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] with the slight unexpectedness of [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m].

[name_f]Willa[/name_f] → literary and sweet with a bit of spark like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]

[name_f]Olive[/name_f] / [name_f]Olivet[/name_f] → vintage like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], subtlely Biblical and wordy like [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m]

I so hardcore agree with [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] and [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] as suggestions! Those are delicious! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

The first name I thought of to go with these two, before I opened the post, was [name_f]Margot[/name_f]! I think anyone with any spirit can really rock that name, similarly to the others. So solid and sturdy. A more religious-y yet similar beauty is [name_f]Martha[/name_f], which I think is divine.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Phebe[/name_f], or [name_f]Esther[/name_f]!

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and…

[name_f]Joy[/name_f] → cheerful and bubbly with both gentleness and solidity

[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] → breezy and hopeful, with the sounds of [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and international feel of [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]

[name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] → bubbly, breezy and cheerful, it gives me a hint of vintage, a bit word-y, sweet but confident

[name_f]Talia[/name_f] → for the ‘dew of heaven’ meaning, but also the link to [name_f]Natalia[/name_f] and [name_f]Christmas[/name_f]

[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] → clunky cute, unexpected but familiar, reminds me of [name_f]Susanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Mercy[/name_f]

[name_f]Celia[/name_f] → light, bright and pretty with a sweet meaning

[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] → strong and interesting, reminds me of [name_f]Octavia[/name_f] E. [name_m]Butler[/name_m]

[name_f]Caralie[/name_f] → not sure I can explain it, but it just feels like it could work?

[name_f]Dove[/name_f] → gentle and sweet, but that peaceful symbolism feels powerful

[name_f]Nova[/name_f] → sparky and maybe unexpected for your list, but I like the new feeling, the space feeling, and link to [name_f]Nova[/name_f] [name_f]Scotia[/name_f] (Anne of [name_m]Green[/name_m] Gables)

[name_f]Aura[/name_f] → again, not sure I can quite explain it, but there’s something bold and quietly spiritual about it

[name_f]Marianne[/name_f] → reminds me of [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], [name_f]Claramae[/name_f], and Cornelia; a bit literary, a bit [name_f]Anne[/name_f] of [name_m]Green[/name_m] Gables (Marilla and Anne?)

[name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] or Thomasine/a → unexpected sounds, both classic and outdoorsy, plus the twin meaning could be sweet
