Please let me know what you think of our final name list. Our little girl is due in a few weeks and I would like to go to the hospital with 2-3 choices. Thanks for all the help!
From your list and without knowing the story behind the choices, I’d pick [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Faye[/name], [name]Cecilie[/name] [name]Faye[/name], and [name]Berenice[/name] Fenne in that order.
[name]Maeve[/name] is a beautiful name. My mw’s youngest daughter is named [name]Maeve[/name]. Her other girls are [name]Skye[/name], Eidhli, and [name]Iona[/name]. (I am not positive on the spelling of Eidhli, but it is pronounced Ay-lee).
Beautiful names, I’m not totally keen on [name]Berenice[/name] since it reminds me of a [name]Bernice[/name] I don’t like but the others are all lovely. The 3 I’d take to hospital would be:
[name]Cecilie[/name] [name]Faye[/name] (although I like the [name]Cecily[/name] spelling, this its currently my biggest name crush!)
[name]Ottilie[/name] [name]Cecile[/name] - gorgeous and [name]Tillie[/name] as a nn would be darling!
[name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Faye[/name] - hope you don’t mind me suggesting this, but I don’t like Fenne and I think this combo is stunning! I’d love a [name]Rosamund[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name] or [name]Rosie[/name]
[name]Freya[/name] [name]Cecile[/name]-I like the gentle sound of this
[name]Elinor[/name] [name]Faye[/name]-[name]Love[/name] both these names.
[name]Rosamund[/name] Fenne-[name]Love[/name] [name]Rosamund[/name] not so sure about Fenne seems rather insubstantial. I liked another posters suggestion of [name]Rosamund[/name] [name]Faye[/name].
I think they would all work well with [name]Maeve[/name] but I like [name]Freya[/name] with it best.
I like [name]Freya[/name], but find that the middle sound is too much like that of [name]Maeve[/name] (M-AY-ve and Fr-AY-a, or at least that’s how I pronounce them). If I say them really quickly together, I start saying Fraeva, haha. [name]Berenice[/name] seems very French next to Irish [name]Maeve[/name].
Which are AWESOME. I would take [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Faye[/name], [name]Rosamund[/name] Fenne/[name]Faye[/name], and [name]Cecily[/name] [name]Faye[/name] to the hospital. (I think [name]Cecilie[/name] is okay, but the spelling confuses me as to whether it should be pronounced like [name]Cecily[/name] or more French). [name]Ottilie[/name] [name]Cecile[/name] is a pretty combo, too; [name]Ottilie[/name] just isn’t so much my style. But all four work be gorgeous!
[name]Elinor[/name] [name]Faye[/name] and [name]Rosamund[/name] Fenne are my favourites! [name]Cecilie[/name] is lovely but I also prefer the y-ending.
Cecillie, [name]Ottilie[/name], and [name]Berenice[/name] are all quite French in spelling yet [name]Maeve[/name] is clearly Irish/Scottish so I think [name]Elinor[/name] or Rosamnud would go better.
Anyway, my vote is with [name]Elinor[/name] [name]Faye[/name]! They’re all beautiful, by the way, and whatever you choose will be wonderful, especially with big sister [name]Maeve[/name].
You have some gorgeous contenders, but I gasped (in a good way!) when I reached [name]Cecilie[/name] [name]Faye[/name]! Beautiful, classic, graceful, I love it.
[name]Freya[/name] and [name]Elinor[/name] are the two “wow” names that jump off your list for me. They are both lovely with [name]Maeve[/name] and beautiful names on their own.
@ljandrl-
Though I love the name [name]Rosamund[/name], I love the NN [name]Romy[/name] more. I cannot get myself to put just [name]Romy[/name] on a
birth certificate.
[name]Ottilie[/name] is a family name with a great NN [name]Tillie[/name] too.
I do think [name]Romy[/name] could work on its own but possibly not with with your other first names, with the exception of [name]Freya[/name] which has more of a laid back feel to me. [name]Rosamund[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name] or [name]Ottilie[/name] nn [name]Tillie[/name] would be so adorable though!
Other names I like to get to the nn [name]Romy[/name] are [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Romilly[/name], Rosemay, [name]Rosemary[/name], or any [name]Rose[/name] name with an M name in the middle. For example, for a while I considered [name]Rosalia[/name] [name]Mary[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name] or [name]Rosaline[/name] [name]Marie[/name] nn [name]Romy[/name]. That was mostly because my partner wouldn’t agree to [name]Rosamund[/name] though!
My vote goes to [name]Ottilie[/name]. Goes swimmingly with big sister [name]Maeve[/name]'s name, [name]IMO[/name]!! [name]Both[/name] very feminine and look/sound great together.
