A sister for Nathan and Susannah

We are VERY stuck on boy names but have too many options for girls. Which do you like for a sister for [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] (Nates) and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] (Zuzu). Middle name will likely be [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Bea[/name_f] (family names).

[name_f]Maggie[/name_f] (full name Margaret?)
[name_f]Hallie[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]
[name_f]Tessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] (nn Allie)

Names I love that have been vetoed: [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Sybil[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]!

I like [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] “Maggie” with your older children’s names. It fits in well.

And [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] would be adorable!

I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f], [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and Alice!!

With [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], I’ll suggest

[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] “Romy”
[name_f]Josephine[/name_f] “Sephie”
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f] “Hattie”
[name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] “Gigi”
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_u]Holly[/name_u]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucille[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f] “Mimi”
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]

[name_m]Nathan[/name_m] “Nates” and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] “Zuzu” make me think bright, happy, Biblical (but with [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], less common Biblical, more colonial American). So I think [name_f]Molly[/name_f] is a good fit. It gives me the same happy, gently vintage feel. [name_f]My[/name_f] second favorite would be Margaret/Maggie. I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] and [name_f]Hallie[/name_f], but the former reads more formal than [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] and the latter reads less formal than both sibling names, IMO. I like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], but it seems more modern/mainstream than the other two (mostly Susannah). I also love [name_f]Violet[/name_f] as a middle name because [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] means lily or rose, so it keeps the flower thing going!

I think all on your list except [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] work with your older children’s names. [name_f]Hallie[/name_f] seems modern and insubstantial compared with [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f].

To match your family I would tend towards full name [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] for [name_f]Maggie[/name_f]. Though I would also consider other options such as [name_f]Margot[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Margalit[/name_f] to give [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] nickname.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_f]Maggie[/name_f].

[name_f]Daphne[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Molly[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] would be perfect we with your sibset

[name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_m]Nathan[/name_m], & ______:

[name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Delia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Leona[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Marnie[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Jocelyn[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_u]Holly[/name_u] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Keira[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f]

Thank you! I think after all of the feedback, I’m leaning toward [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] (Maggie) or [name_f]Alice[/name_f] (Allie). I’ve always loved [name_f]Molly[/name_f] but it may not be substantial enough for me.

Embarrassed to admit it, but I’ve loved “Hallie” since seeing the modern-day Parent Trap. It’s so airy and light. Like a breeze. But it’s my husband’s least favorite. I feel like [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] has a similar airiness to it. He’s not all that enthusiastic about that one either.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] but our surname rhymes with it.

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] but it’s my best friend’s daughter’s name.

I wish my husband loved [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], but he just sees a “girl duck.”

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] goes very well! It has that balance between classic and fresh sounding.

I like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] and [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f].

Other suggestions that I think might match:
[name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]
Lucy/Lucille
[name_f]Harriet[/name_f]
[name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Angelica[/name_f]
[name_f]Winifred[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leia[/name_f]
[name_f]Leila[/name_f]
[name_f]Liliana[/name_f]
[name_f]Gracelyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothea[/name_f]

[name_f]Margaret[/name_f] [name_f]Bea[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would be stunning with [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]! (And I love [name_f]Maggie[/name_f] and [name_u]Allie[/name_u] with [name_m]Nate[/name_m] and [name_f]Zuzu[/name_f], adorable!) [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would also be lovely, [name_f]Tess[/name_f] is a sweet nickname.

[name_f]Winnie[/name_f] is so, so cute. I can’t get on the [name_f]Winifred[/name_f] train though  Is there an alternative formal name for [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] I wonder? Bronwin? I love [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] (pronouncing the “h”), but [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] are too close. Our kitty’s name is [name_f]Leila[/name_f]

[name_u]Love[/name_u] these two combinations! I love [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] but my husband is not on board totally. I think the baby would have to pop out looking like a [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]

I personally like [name_f]Molly[/name_f] not only because it’s my name but I think it goes well with [name_m]Nathan[/name_m] and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]. Because they all aren’t really common names these days but they are still used every once in a while and have the same type of uniqueness to them. And my middle name is [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

In response to you saying you might be interested in an alternative way to get to [name_f]Winnie[/name_f], what about [name_f]Winona[/name_f]? It might be a tad close to [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] in some sounds, but I think it’s such a sweet name, and would be a great way to get the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f]
