[name_m]Hi[/name_m] berries! We have a 1 year old son named [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and love everything about him and his simple, easy to spell, works in many languages name.
We now have a little girl on the way (due in [name_u]July[/name_u]!) and would love to get some input on our favorite names. Any other suggestions are more than welcome as I feel - like so many people - that we haven’t found “the” name yet.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - we both like this, but wish it wasn’t so popular and my partner would prefer a name that is more different from [name_u]Owen[/name_u] (more contrasting I guess). [name_u]Abby[/name_u] - my partner likes it a lot, I’m okay with it [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] - my partner loves how different it is from [name_u]Owen[/name_u], I like it but not sure why as it isn’t a very easy name to say in different languages [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] - another favorite of my partner, I’m in the same boat as with [name_f]Cassie[/name_f], I kind of like it but it seems hard to say in other languages (we live in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] close to [name_m]Quebec[/name_m] so being able to pronounce the name easily in [name_m]French[/name_m] would help) [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] - my suggestion as it works in so many languages, too close to the sounds of [name_u]Owen[/name_u] for my partner

Have you considered [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]? It’s more [name_m]French[/name_m]-sounding and creates a different final ending than [name_u]Owen[/name_u] (-een vs -in), while still staying close to [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u].
I really like [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] with [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. It would definitely be pronounceable to [name_m]French[/name_m] speakers at least - it’s ranked no. 300 there, which would make it a reasonably familiar name to them.
I wouldn’t recommend [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] unless you don’t mind the H disappearing in [name_m]French[/name_m].
I second the suggestion of [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. Here are some more ideas:
I like [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] best from your list. I don’t think [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] is the best choice if a top priority is ease in other languages – there is a funny gag on the show [name_m]Mozart[/name_m] in the Jungle where the character from Mexico calls the [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] character [name_m]HI[/name_m]-lye. [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] feels a little more 1980s to me than [name_u]Owen[/name_u].
I hear the similarities between [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_f]Zoey[/name_f] but I don’t think they are close enough to be a deal breaker. [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_f]Cassie[/name_f] are also nice together. I would suggest…
I really love [name_f]Molly[/name_f] as a sister name for [name_u]Owen[/name_u]. That was my first thought for you. I also like Lucy and will suggest Celia.

I like [name_f]Mira[/name_f], [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Emilie[/name_f], and [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Maia[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], but the last two have been crossed off the list by my partner.
Good point about the H disappearing in [name_m]French[/name_m], that makes [name_f]Hailey[/name_f] less attractive…

Thanks for the vote for [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]. We’ll definitely take a look at your suggestion, I like the sound of [name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Camille[/name_f], [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Madeline[/name_f] (but don’t like the different spellings and pronunciations of the last one)!

@manwathiel, thanks your list is super helpful! It is just so nice to see some different suggestions after mulling over the same names for so long. I really love [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Hazel[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f], but they have been taken off the list for many reasons, might be worth another look though!
